Yes, amazing quality with good headphones. FLAC are the way 2 go.

Have you actually heard the diff? I am asking those who are truly interested in this kind of thing.

7digital has some albums and singles in FLAC as well, they're a bit cheaper I think.

Do they have the same quality as Tidal? (I see some 16 and 24 bit FLAC files)

This 24 bit I think are fake....I say that b/c I have never heard of any official releases and I have Around the World in 24 bit and it sounds no better than the 16 bit/CD ....

If indeed the Bremer Trust is set to make money quickly there is a LOT they can do. I truly hopE Prince's albums - especially the 80s stuff- is revisited quickly. This can not be difficult to do considering i feel some work may already have been done.

The day they do Sign and The Black Album, I will take a day off work to listen through on my stereo. I want to hear all that he intended. We need sacd/dsd releases!!

Well I can tell you that the Batman flacs appear to be sourced from the same master as the CD. I (regretfully) bought the Bat flacs and compared them to my CD rips from the original CD. Wavforms are the same, except for a very slight volume increase in the flacs.

If you have the Audacity music file editor, here's a trick:

  1. Open both sources (flac and CD wav) into the same window (each will be a separate track in Audacity),
  2. Line them up to be in sync
  3. 'Invert' one of the tracks
  4. Merge the two tracks together into a new, third track
  5. If the third track ends up as complete silence, the sources were identical
  6. If the third track is simply very quiet, then the sources were the same, except for volume (this is what I found with the Batman flacs)
  7. If the third track ranges in volume, tone and waveform, then they have different mastering

P.S. Edited msg for spelling issues
