I get the feeling that Prince didn't get out of the hotel much when he was on tour. MJ did, I know that (not personally, alas, but it was well reported when he did in Melbourne). William Shatner was another (and I heard this from him first hand) who walked around Melbourne on an afternoon he was here.

And P never has a good word for hotel rooms in his lyrics. I get the feeling he spent too much of his life in them; no wonder he wanted to turn up at smoky jazz clubs in the wee small hours; better than being in a room by yourself.

But now that we know he came here a lot, I dare to hope that he read my reviews of his concerts, especially on the Piano & Microphone tour. It's something I can imagine him doing with that lifestyle, and it thrills me to think that he did. It makes me even gladder that I wrote them.

Tell people that u love them while u can.

they are almost like Ali/frazier, two rivals, perfectly suited to be rivals. It's a shame they never worked together to highlight the dichotomoy, like the Batman and the Joker.
