First Post Death Releases... Now that it has been officially confirmed that Bremer Trust National Association has appointed Londell McMillan and Charles A. Koppleman to manage the entertainment assests of PRINCE, the estate begain liscening and monetizating his assests due to help pay the hefty tax bill coming up in January...
The question is not to discuss the estate, as I know the mods are very trigger fingered with closing threads now a days... But the discussion is, what do you think will be the first official releases from the PRINCE estate now that they have appointed those two individuals.
Personally I think the best thing to release first would be the PURPLE RAIN deluxe edition box set, since PURPLE RAIN and THE VERY BEST OF PRINCE have been the two biggest sellers, and still selling strong, since Prince's death.
What would you guys like to see released?

I think NOT A THING should be released before the whole archives have been subject to a COMPLETE inventory: studio tracks, live shows, rehearsals, album configurations, videos, etc. This needs to be done by a devoted team of Prince specialists (former collaborators, maybe even some fan researchers) alongside engineers in order to determine which tapes, if any, are in the most urgent need of restauration/digitalization and do a clean job with this. A proper and cohesive system of cataloguing also needs to be established, to have a clear view of content, particularly when it comes to studio material. The task would take months, if not years, and would be costly, but it is necessary. Then and only then should and could the team of archivists make reasonable decisions regarding what could and should be released. Anything before that would inevitably rushed and probably disappointing. In the meantime it would be possible, though, to release the last 2 piano shows, as such and as per Prince's wishes. A Montreux boxset could also be an easy thing to release quickly, again as such.

The Piano & Mic tour highlights, since Prince said they were cleaning up the audio to release them on Tidal. . Might as well save Purple Rain for the 35th anniversary now. I agree, but remember for the fast issueing buy the Bremer Trust to monetize his entertainment assests and music... It's to make money asap before the huge government tax bill for Paisley Park is issued in January.
I except to see many songs being liscenced for tv shows, movies, commercials, and a possible upcoming CD release before January.

The second Atlanta show. He intended to release it, he was probably working on it when he died, it would make a lot of sense and, sadly, the line 'Prnce's last ever show' would sell it. I don't know whether it was also filmed, but if it was an album and DVD release would be the perfect move.
