The main thing I was looking forward to was watching this band over the years. EVERY song of his that they reinvented, to me, was the best iterations LIVE of those songs, ever.
I'll include Let's Go Crazy, She's Always In My Hair, Something In The Water, ICNTTPOYM, etc.... I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore...

Yeah..I would buy that in a heartbeat. I know a lot of the fans weren't crazy about 3EG, but I thought it was a cool project. I enjoyed their take on the songs and I loved hearing P and Donna trade off on the guitar solos.

The 2013 Montreux performance of The Love We Make that's currently on YouTube is so good. Donna handles the guitar parts so well and P's vocals and keys are phenomenal. Not sure if 3EG burned itself out but it seems like they were only getting better with each performance. Definitely needed Prince on the vocals, though.

I think this was Prince's best band post Revolution. Also sounded very rock and roll, very raw at times. Some of their renditions of his older songs were stunning. Something in the Water, even Let's Go Crazy were amazing. There was a great symbiosis between Prince and them.

I agree with everyone so far. While their studio album fell short of my expectations, I really loved them as a live act.

I would certainly purchase a "live" cd/bluray of 3rd Eye Girl featuring Prince.

would love that..how about those stunning jam sessions they did..great to hear them all floating around again. Would love a box set of live highlights & those jams included.
I have so much love for 3EG..they were the last band I saw him play with live [Autism rocks UK], he looked genuinley happy with them & very much took on the role of teacher/mentor. If they did a reunion gig I would be there in a heart beat..strangley I feel nothing for all the other bands like the revolution, time etc...& I'm pretty damn hard core!

I was really looking forward to watching them progress. I was hoping they'd come into their own with a great 2nd album, which would capture the promise of their live show. [Edited 6/16/16 14:42pm] Hundalasiliah!

Been digging Pretzelbodylogic lately...has a cool 70's hard funk rock vibe that their live shows signaled but for the most part fell short on the album. And the lyrics are funny...how often do you hear P talk about falling asleep before the act?

their version of 2Y2D is also really great. it rocks incredibly hard and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yep, I hope we get to hear the sophomore release at some point, you know it had to be ready to roll. Would still be very interesting though to hear all of the 90+ songs they laid down together, there are probably a few reloaded tracks in there.
