This has been the question that's got me completely boggled. This is the dream he fought for. What the fuq happened? He had resigned to turn it into a museum? That puzzles the heck out of me. I've heard not a thing that explains why this didn't come to fruition. Was it all the various rumors that scared artist away? I can't imagine it being solely Prince's ego. Having some sort of ego is a given in this field. I'd say his was basically tame in comparison to a ton of others. Too many people needing to see him fail? wrenches were thrown in from all over the place?

it's function was to be a studio. correct? that was his dream. why would he be considering turning it into a museum if it was functioning as it was built to be?

Who said he was considering it to be a museum while alive? He worked & lived there. His wishes for a museum was after his death (allegedly), which is now.

It functioned greatly as a studio. Movies, music videos, and more were shot there. Many albums were recorded there, as noted in the video.

It could continue as a studio facility, but it'd be a bit like putting Neverland Ranch on AirBNB.com.

e). "There's room for Purple Rain or the Super Bowl here," he notes of one empty space, murmuring something about eventually turning Paisley Park into a museum. It already seems a bit like one: a huge, dark, nearly empty space with only a skeleton crew on hand.
