The artwork is really tacky. DonĀ“t like it at all...but it has some great songs, which I still listen to these days. The fact of being too long is not a problem at all, the more Prince material, the best. We can choose the songs we like the most and forget about the others...Different strokes for different folks

What if Prince had taken the best 12-15 songs from Emancipation and with a LIVE BAND re-recorded them in front of a live audience? Let the songs breathe, put a new stamp on them.
That would have been awesome.

I totally agree that "The Love We Make" is one of his all-time great songs. I can listen to that song multiple times in a row. It is beautifully constructed. I love the subtlety of the electric guitar. The lyrics to the song are really intricate, complex, and enigmatic at times...yet the spiritual theme is very clear. And the title is interesting because it suggests a sexual song, but it's not that kind of song at all. -- On YouTube there is a video of him playing "The Love We Make" in 2011 at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Oh my goodness, the performance is absolutely exquisite, and he ends the song with a brilliant guitar solo. -- I wonder how the song would have done had it been released as a single. Lyrically, it would have been different from what was out at that time, for sure. [Edited 7/13/16 13:03pm] Live 4 Love ~ Love is God, God is love, Girls and boys love God above
