I currently attend Berklee College of Music and ever since Prince passed I thought it would be fitting for him to recieve an Honorary Degree. Sure it would be more fitting if the person was alive when recieving it, however I think that it is a nice way of further immortalizing his influence and stating how big we really was

Just my opinion and a pet peeve, but why do these places wait until a person is gone before they realize what they had and honor them? It always bothers me these posthumus honors.

admission is easy, just say U believe, then come 2 this place in your heart.

It's nice of them but P didn't need no awards from the academy.

I'm sure he will be receiving several awards a long the way.

He refused many, not sure if his JW beliefs had anything to do with it.

He was also honored with a street plaque at the Harlem Theater.

Not sure why he wasn't honored yet at Kennedy.... I wonder if he just turned it down.

It's not a posthumous honour - they'd finally got him to agree to accept it, after trying for ages.

WHY did it takes 24 years to get it done?

Minneapolis' City Pages and Minnesota Daily got to the bottom of it.

Imagine what a memory: replying the same way, 24 years later.

Click on all the links, too.
