Did anyone watch the Big Interview on Tuesday? I watched it last night and it was very well done. Dan Rather a real journalist doing a good tribute show. It focused on little known aspects of the particular legend's life. It featured (in order of appearance) Natalie Cole, David Bowie, B.B. King, Prince and Merle Haggard. I was a little concerned because the tv ad I saw didn't feature Prince. So for Natalie Cole it focused on her college career, finding music in college and finally making her Unforgetable album. For David Bowie it focused on his 1 Blue and 1 Black eye and they spoke with his best friend from childhood. For BB King it focused on Lucille. For Prince it focused on the fact that he lived with Andre Cymone's family for a bout 5 years when he couldn't get along with his stepfather.

It featured Andre Cymone in his first television interivew since Prince passed. I learned several new things in this interview but the coolest thing was: just like Andre played with Prince, Andre's dad played in the Prince Rogers Trio. Andre said that Prince's dad would give them advice and play the piano. He even talked about that infamous American Bandstand when Prince gave 1 word answers. Andre said everyody asked him why Prince did that and he said that Prince was nervous, because he was nervous being on American Bandstand.

I enjoyed the entire program and I highly recommend that the orgers watch while it is still being played.

Yeah I saw and enjoyed watching the clips for Natalie Cole and Prince .but do they ALWAYS have to play "purple rain" as background music when they introduce prince on the show and news clips?

That is still my least favorite Prince song, but it is his Unforgetable.
