I Made The Mistake Of Listening To "Chelsea Rodgers" Yesterday . Forgive me for I have sinned. I committed the mortal sin of listening to "Chelsea Rodgers" last night. Twenty-four hours later I am paying for that mistake. That darn song is still in my head!!!! . Easily the catchiest Prince song of them all. And easily the most effective "ear worm" in the world. I can't get it out of my head!!!!!!

There's already a thread for this kind of things http://prince.org/msg/7/4...?&pg=1

. Uhh, what exactly does that thread have to do with this one? This thread is about the extreme catchiness of a particular song. The construct of that song - the chorus, the chic-chic rhythm guitar - make it Prince's catchiest song. Is that other thread about that?

I Prince still, but even when he was alive I let it be known that I hated this song...one of the worst songs he ever made. Played it once when PE came out n never played it again.

. Wow. . Why no lawsuit over that?

. Interesting. . Maybe it's the guitarist in me that really latches on to that song. Prince rarely did that skanking chic rhythm, and he places it way high up in the mix in "Chelsea Rodgers." Love that stuff and it makes me love that tune.

Deepest condolences. (I can't stand that song.) We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

. Wow, this hate for "Chelsea Rodgers" is surprising. I wish those that do dislike the song would take a moment and explain exactly why. I took the time to explain why I do like the song. I'd be interested in hearing why you do not.

And "Spill the wine". My mother loved Barry Manilow so as soon as I heard Planet Earth the Could It Be Magic bit stuck out like a sore thumb

Love this song. If you imagine "Chelsea Rodgers" to be his drag-name, it kind of sounds like he's singing about himself in the third person. It puts a whole other spin on the lyrics.

Ive always loved that one; the Planet Earth album as a whole is actually one of my favourites of the 2004 - 2015 records.

Always liked the line "Chelsea's fly from coast to coast" but otherwise not one of my faves. Shelby doing her best Mavis but perhaps a little too loud in the mix.

I like it. But it always makes me think Prince was pulling a fast one for the umpteenth time. Maybe it was me that got too caught up with this being his "secret" child. It definitely marks when I threw my hands up on the whole idea and gave up even worrying about it.
