Elephants & Flowers I was watching "Grafitti Bridge" last weekend and thinking about this scene. That must've been embarrasing for the Kid to have only that many people as their audience. Man, I just felt like he was such a l;oser in that flick. And the funny thing was, the song rocked, but people were leaving anyway. That could never happen to Prince in real life. Any thoughts? Yes it could happen in real life. Look, it doesn't matter how KICKASS a concert is, most people have pre-conceived notions about artists. I used to beg my ex-girlfriend to go with me to concerts of bands that she hated, but she wouldn't go...despite the fact that I told her she WOULD have a good time. If you're not a Prince fan, it's iffy as to whether a live performance would turn you into one. | |

Elephants and Flowers performance is one of the high-lights of the movie,
the song kicks ass it should have been a single. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

When Prince opened for the Rolling Stones in the late '70s he was booed. Maybe that is why he doesn't have opening acts at his concerts. | |

Try 1981. And he doesn't have opening acts usually because when u go to see Prince who gives a shit about an opening act? lol. Plus it's also about control. Once he had complete control of his career early on, his opening acts were HIS creations, playing HIS music. The show is all about Prince..before and after. That's why you never saw Huey Lewis or Jody Watley open for Prince. Although I think its kind of feasible to think that he doesn't have opening acts so they wot get "booed" like what happened to him...but I doubt it. . Embarrassing?? I don't know... 
This song is about spirituality, and those who were left on the dance floor FELT it... THOSE were the ones that the KID was playing to anyways..it's all about making that CONNECTION.. Or would U rather play to a full house who wasn't feelin ya?? Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind. | |
