I don't care what Jay Z said. There is no fucking way in hell that Prince gave his masters to ANYONE, much less Jay Z. That any fan could believe something like that based on rap lyric is HIGHlarious.

Yes, he really said it in a rap -- and that's why you have folks (unbelievably believing him and) posting multiple threads in the "Prince Music & More" forum -- even though Prince isn't mentioned in either article, and it doesn't affect Prince or his music in any way whatsoever.
If Apple bought Tidal, they would still need to get the rights from Prince's estate to put up any music that isn't already available on iTunes.
Has absolutely nothing at all to do with Prince, other than if Tidal suddenly disappears -- Prince fans won't be able to get most of the music that WAS available on Tidal.
Think of it as if Sony bought WB. Sony would still need to get permission to license Prince's music because WB does not own the masters to Prince's music. Prince/the estate licensed the WB releases to WB because Prince/the estate owns the masters.
Apples and oranges.
