It strikes me as odd the way he waited for her to come of legal age, the comments i read are like they met and were friends when she was 15, but then when she was 18 they became lovers, knowing what Prince's like for a look was, i'm sure he didn't suddenly think at 18, wow, she looks good, I never noticed !!! like he bookmarked her with a pin on his calendar !

It reminds me when a newspaper in England did a countdown on a girl under 16 they had been showing semi-clothed seductive pictures on page 3 and on her 16th birthday she went topless, all very wrong.

It's surprising with all the alleged encounters he had with women at gigs etc, there were not some accusations on age, as I'm sure he and his people couldn't age check the girls he invited back stage (just reading some of the stories in the meeting Prince thread are interesting!!!!), at some of the clubs and concerts a 15 year old girl could easily be mistaken for an older girl.

I would expect that globally-famous stars like Elvis and Prince would have tons of under-age girls throwing themselves at them constantly, and the danger would always be present of getting involved with someone who turned out to be "too young". I mean, he might entertain them but I'd think the smarter thing would be to keep them out of sight of the public and fans....

Prince isn't stupid. he waited until Anna and Mayte were 18 before he poked them. Its not like he was celibate because he was poking other women anyway

It's no excuse, but Prince had some serious control issues. By getting these young girls, he would have more control of them than someone his own age. That's probably why he never married Sheila. He could not pull his BS on her.

I have a 15 yo and an 18 yo daughters and there is no way that I would allow them to even see or be friends with a 30 something yo man, even if it were Prince. I know that I couldn't do much about the 18 yo, but I sure would raise some sand behind it. I guess some parents are blinded by the fame and money.

That would make her 15 when they met? Unless this birthday fact is wrong, which could be.

There's a vast emotional difference between 30 and 18. I don't think Prince wanting to date younger women in and of itself was creepy, it's more a matter of those women basically being teenagers that kind of bugs me.

A teenage women is usually much easier to control than an older woman, who is unlikely to tolerate Prince's shenanigans, unless she was dazzled by the charm. I remember the woman on the Greenspace panel giddily describing how Prince was sending her stuff and doing the he'll call you in an hour thing.
