For how many people did Prince perform in his life? I wonder: is there a complete list of concert dates (including guest appearances with others and aftershows) available? I know there's several listings, and however very detailed, imo not always complete.
If there would be a complete list, I could look up the capacities of all venues and make a calculation of the numbers of people he performed for. Anyone can lend a hand? Thnx in advance!  [Edited 6/4/16 2:50am] 'Liberate My Mind' | |

The physicist Enrico Fermi used to like to guesstimate random questions off the top of his head, using known parameters, and this has come to be seen as one of the tools of the trade of being a scientist. Like trying to work out how many cigarettes are smoked every year in the USA - that sort of thing.
In that spirit, I'll say that Prince probably played 20 shows a year for 35 years, with maybe an average of 5000 people a time. None of those figures is exact, but with luck they'll be right enough to give us a ballpark number. I work it out as about 3.5 million tickets sold, so my answer would be "in the low millions". | |

Obviously you have to factor in that a lot of people attended multiple shows like, for example, at the London O2 shows. | |

I will make the calculation after looking up all the data, but I estimate it over 30 million. He played Feyenoord Stadium maybe 5 or 6 times which has a capacity of 50,000. This alone would be 25,000 - 300,00 people. 'Liberate My Mind' | |
