Thank you so much for sharing this, it's very lovely to hear his voice. It is semi-unrelated by the change of people's voices as they age has been an interest of mine for some reason lately. Over the years, he has managed to sound the sound. The same 28 year old in this interview is how he sounded 29 years later. There's a youth in his voice in this, makes the man that was the enigma all the more fantastic. I supremely wish I was able to be around during this time. I'd love to have been 23 back then.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was late at night in Detroit and so exciting and unexpected that he chose to give an interview in our hometown on our favorite radio show.

Damn in this interview he says that everyone around him is worried he's going to die because he works too much.

I was living in Detroit then. it was his second hometown. Mojo put Prince on the map. not only did he play the hits but he played all the album cuts. He played the Madhouse albums and half of the Sign O The Times album a MONTH before it was released. this was way before the Internet when no music ever leaked. Prince must have sent him a copy and said it was ok. when Mojo went to Canada in late 80's he played a lot of Prince bootleg stuff that nobody had the guts to play. thats when I first heard the uncut Computer Blue [Edited 6/3/16 22:06pm]

Right, and Mojo was playing deep Prince cuts years before he achieved mainstream success.

He was never supposed to leave us... And I guess he hasn't. Still hurts we won't ever see his spontaneous self again. Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.
