SpinsterSister

I trust what his personal chef said, that Prince was NOT a vegan, but vegetarian. However, if you can help to relieve the suffering livestock goes through for our plates, it cannot be anything but a good thing.

you know that veganism has nothing to do with health right ? people wind up there sometimes after a health kick breaks their reliance on some food groups but veganism excludes animal based clothing items etc that have nothing to do with nutrition. as such, there are vegans who don't have any problem with the nutritional value of meat and some who are ambivalent to environmental concerns. its an ethical thing.
OH and quite a portion of the couple of hundred vegans I know find PETA obnoxious

Most vegans behave like terrorists.

PETA certianly is a terrorist organization.

how many do you know ? I know a couple of hundred not including myself and my family and I associate with nobody violent or unkind.
I have no problem with anyone else doing what they want, like every damn thing be it voting for a particular political party, someones views on anything contentious etc I first and foremost have respect for people - sure there are some assholes in the community but the saturation in my experience is the same as the general community

if you don't know that Vegans ≠ PETA then you gotta stop talking about what either are cause millions of non vegans support PETA and most vegans I know (and thats a lot) don't dig PETA.

I love people in general and have no time for misanthropy - if you haven't met a nice vegan yet, hi, I'm Tim , by default I like you razz

I love this song even though I would never become vegetarian.

Yeah.. same here. It's the same as his songs with a religious tint, I won't convert for it, but I'll certainly jam out to it. lol

I can appreciate that sentiment. Prince and Stevie Wonder are about the closest I get to church these days.

The meat industry is also a major global pollutant and a drain on the global food supply. And no, I'm not from PeTA.

You just spout their propaganda.

Yes, it took years and years of MK-Ultra-style brainwashing for me to see that raising livestock for the majority of citizens from overpopulated countries to eat every single day - usually more than once a day - produces countless tonnage of shit that one way or another has to go back into the planet.

Yes, acts of civil disobedience by PETA members/followers have involved terrorizing people (ie. throwing red paint on people wearing furs). In every political group, there are extremists. Most "moderate" North Americans eat a diet dependent on torturing defenseless animals, so what do you think is more in keeping with terrorism: breaking into a factory farm to film what is happening inside, or sawing off a chicken's beak, forcing it to live in a wire cage hardly bigger than the animal itself until the bars grow into its feet, pumping it full of drugs so it can tolerate more pain, and eventually decapitating it? If a child did the latter, most people would fear that child growing up to be a dangerous psychopath, but most people are also abstracted from the process that brings chicken to their children's mouths, and can detach their compassion from animal welfare. What's worse, throwing paint on some affluent woman's fur coat to illustrate that she's walking around in a skinned animal when she doesn't need to be, or snaring a fox in a trap and letting it bleed out? If you saw a person beating a dog, would you shame that person, or try to intervene? Most people also have more compassion towards animals than they think, when they think.

Yes, you're right, most vegans behave like terrorists. Prince was certainly a terrorist, doing all that charity work without asking for any recognition. That's why most vegans are politely going about their lives in a neoliberal capitalist society among a meat-eating majority while building restaurants, writing cookbooks, hosting potlucks, and Allahu akbar! Vegan jihad!

I don't know why anybody would be pro-eating dead bodies, when there's so many other alternatives available.

I'm just concerned that Peta don't seem to realise that he switched from being vegan to vegetarian at some point.

Oh, well. At least they're promoting something positive.

I hate vegans. Meat is great for us.

Why do you hate us? What have we done to offend you?

Interesting. The chef from LA (08) said Prince would ask for fish. She wrote about her experiences with him after he died.

I eat meat, but it's amusing to see the defensiveness some who eat meat get based off of someone else's dietary choices. Maybe I'm just not passionate about eating meat. Or maybe I'm not an asshole.

Keenly hates everyone. God got Keenly's periods reversed. About every 28 days he starts acting nice. Lasts about a weekend.

So a group of cynical animal killers is promoting this song. How very hypocritical of them. I'm a meat eater and I respect the decisions of those who do not eat it but PETA's manipulative logic is just really fucked up.
until then i'll pretend this fuchsia light is god...

I always notice the same thing. Never do you see people praising the virtues of a steak as much as they do when the word "vegan" is uttered.

This song has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. I love how he says "funky, funky bleu cheese" lol

Animal Kingdom is not PETA's to release...is it?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

lol

I don't buy meat or fish at all now, but put anything in front of me on a plate and I'll eat it.

I'd rather not, but I'm too poor at times to turn away a meal. Yes, I always feel a bit guilty afterwards.

Friends and family are crazy sometimes.

I had soya chilli and rice for dinner tonight. I froze half. It made a lot. And it was salty as fuck. lol
