'Slave Trade' Doc Available for FREE Right Now on Dish I just discovered this and had not seen the 2014 documentary Slave Trade before, which goes indepth into Prince's WB/Slave conflict. It includes some nice footage and interviews with Michael Bland, Sonny T and others.
It especially focuses on how while perceived as a bit of a screwball at the time for feuding with his label, changing his name to a symbol, hiding his identity, etc. that Prince was 10-15 years ahead of his time regarding the record and live performance businesses. It emphasizes how not only was he light years ahead of everyone as a musical conceptualist but as a business one as well, and how every recording artist today is indebted to his ideas, actions and results.
I highly recommend this flick, especially for FREE and in wake of his passing. If you've got funk, you've got style.

This was a great show. I recorded it the night there were a plethora of Prince tributes going on. Very nice and well put together with great commentary from people that were in the know.

Where can you see it on the internet? "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato
