How many of you would show up

if at some point we had an org tribute to Prince ourselves at Paisley Park? I mean, we might have to stand outside the fence, or maybe someday if it opens to the public someone might let us do it inside (?)

I've never been there.

But mostky I wish I could meet other people who feel the way I do.

Just picture it. We could wear name tags with our org screen name - or not (?)

That sounds like a good idea. But in order to do that we would have to have time to make travel arrangements, etc. It would be nice if we could do it on April 21, 2017. That would give lots of time for fans traveling to make arrangements. Maybe someone can contact Tyka and maybe ask permission. Maybe they will open the grounds at Paisley Park.

I would!! I went to an org get-together once here in Mpls. CarrieMPLS, Anxy, Dan, a bunch of wonderfully nice people were there!! I was painfully shy and about half a year away from a full on breakdown so I didn't talk much to anyone but would love to attend another, even if it's under sadder circumstances this time around. Prince fans are typically some of the kindest people there are.

I might -- I live in Chicago, so I'm not that far from Minnesota. It would depend on whether I could get away from work or not.

I was thinking id like to wait a while so more people could have time to arrangements/put aside $ if necessary

Also for some time to go by so we can grieve more and it won't be so fresh

Also a better chance later they'd let us inside.

I think they might. After all, we're his #1 "fans", aren't we?

I love Dan. He's one of the few Orgers I interact with, elsewhere on the net.

I believe there was a day's worth of activities planned. I was really shy and introverted and anxious and very unsocial (still shocked I went!) so I only met them for lunch. We met at Calhoun Square! I miss Dan so much!! He was the nicest person I ever met here. He sent me a DVD of "Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story," which I still have.

I would love to. My best friend and I are planning a trip to Minneapolis for the first anniversary, so we will be around for 4.21.17. We're coming from the UK and flights (direct) are coming up about £600-£700 and hotel about £60 a night so not too bad. Would love to meet some of you all.

You know, I live in Holland and there's no freaking way I would cough up the money for a flight to the US unless it's part of a bigger journey... To see the Rocky Mountains perhaps...

I am planning to goto Minneapolis from England when things have settled down, when there is a grave to visit and maybe Paisley Park has been opened up. There is also talk of a 'celebration', so maybe a gig, depends on timing with work, but I will be going.

I was lucky enought to visit Paisley Park in 1991 when a band I managed was considering recording there and I had a meetng with Alan Leeds, I was also working on computer games at the time and was writing a game based around Prince.

The city of Minneapolis actually has a list of Prince-related landmarks in the city. We could go on a self-guided tour!

A fan tribute day would be great. Even a convention where we could get to show our collections and trade stuff would be even better. We could even start a go fund me page for it or something and if we had enough money we could rent out a nice space or even hire a few bands. Screw all this televised tribute stuff. We are the only ones who would know how to have a real tribute anyway.

I definitely intend going to visit Paisley Park, not sure when though, I'm waiting to hear that they open it up as a Prince Museum. I'm in the UK so it'll take a bit of planning and finance.

I'm in Denmark, and I am not sure I could stomach going as I never got to see him performing.

Being so close and yet so impossibly far away as he is gone from that place would just kill me, I think.

Would probably start crying when I entered the plane in Copenhagen and not stop for weeks.. Actually beginning to tear up just thinking about it..

But the idea is great, it really is. There's a gig on tonight, according to this. Would absolutely love to be there..
