Useless speculation is the suicide theme that has seemingly taken a life of it's own.

Are there any investigative reporters that are following this story anymore? Are there any writers we know of trying to find out the truth about what happened to Prince?

Worth noting that Prince, at least up until the last several months, had the optimal muscle fat ratio for a 57 year old, taking into account his natural constitution. If you take a look at any one you know of that age what kind of physical state are they in? Not as healthy looking as prince, I would say.

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...

That's the point, there doesn't appear to be progress to anyone's knowledge.

Correct imo.....until ~the end of 2015. November is when I started seeing worrisome signs of illness.

While this does disturb me a lot, I think that the serious problem with illicit drugs that was making itself known around April (afaik, it may have been prior to April but I do not live in MN and am not aware of what went on before) in the Minneapolis/surrounding areas may partially be the reason why nothing has come out yet. We still don't know if the meds (percocet/fentanyl/???) were or weren't prescribed. There may be ongoing DEA investigations all around that area (as well as involving Prince) that are determining the pace.

Thought I read somewhere the death investigation records were sealed for the time being. Perhaps someone from the MPLS Tribune would know if it's still ongoing? I figure if it took 7 months for Peyton Manning's investigation into doping to be completed (IDC), then P's DEATH investigation could take much longer. Since the Feds are involved, can't imagine the investigation would go into a black hole somewhere. Seems like there would be some accountability as well and hopefully, not forgotten. Can't imagine P's family would let that happen.

The Feds would also not want to compromise any progress or "tip their hand" either.

There were reports released that said that the DEA did not find any evidence of doctor shopping or multiple fake prescriptions in other names. They found all prescriptions under one doctor's name.

The investigation centers on the Fentanyl and how he got access to it.

It's very possible we may never find out how he gained access to it.

You know that and so do I, but apparently our eyeballs are lying to us because of what some arbitrary chart says.

112 lbs on the chart is about as low as he could go and be within range. He easily weighed about 20 lbs more in the past couple of years before he died and was more toned. I remember in the mid 90's, a couple of years before he married Mayte, that he was very thin also. I don't know if he was taking too much pain meds at that time or was it simply stress that caused him to lose weight. Unless someone who knows speaks up, we will never know for sure what happened.

During the Parade era. I thought somthing was wrong because he looked so skinny after Purple Rain. I thought his chef said in the last few months he had gotten to where he wasn't drinking water for days? Aside from anything else that may/may not have contributed to his death, who could really survive with all those performances (at his age) and no water for days?? I hope what I read wasn't true, though.

That's not what the chef (Ray Roberts) said.

Prince himself said that he would occasionally not drink or eat (mainly while doing long studio hours).

This is the ACTUAL interview with the chefs that so many others have stolen and paraphrased (and inserted stuff in that isn't there). He never mentioned water.

I would also like to know...when I read this I googled DEA investigation into Prince's death and nothing showed up other than DEA was assisting in the investigation and nothing official has been released. Must be the usual "inside sources that can't be revealed routine" or maybe the Santa Monica paper that said he died from AIDS and a confirmed child heir....bs garbage. Which means it can not be reliable information and many orgers have been saying we may never know the story.

You need to go read the TMZ stories and the Star Tribune stories.

http://www.iheart.com/new...-14702247/

Our sources say ... so far there is no evidence anyone other than Dr. Michael Schulenberg prescribed drugs for Prince. What's more ... we're told the doctor never wrote prescriptions using a name other than Prince Rogers Nelson.

This is in sharp contrast to Michael Jackson's drug abuse ... we broke the story MJ had scripts written by multiple doctors, and for at least 19 aliases.

Our sources caution there could be other doctors who prescribed meds for Price outside the Minnesota area ... but so far nothing's come up.

It's an interesting turn, because the DEA monitors over-prescribing of drugs, yet we're told nothing had been flagged. It's evidence that Prince may have developed a sudden, life-threatening spike in opiate use, and it happened too quickly for the feds to notice.

Prince also had a dangerously low red blood cell count, indicating he had been ill, Minneapolis ABC affiliate KSTP-TV said, citing two unnamed law enforcement officials.

Now this is a key piece of information that could mean several things.

Prince did say this in that 2014 Rolling Stone interview:
That night, Prince doesn't look his age – doesn't look any particular age, really. He's very thin, but not fragile – a strict vegan who, by his own account, sometimes doesn't eat at all ("I have gone long periods with no food, and also water – people have to remind me to drink water because I always forget to do that").

I posted a thread awhile back speculating if Prince could have had an underlying eating disorder that manifested occasionally over the years..I still think thats a possibility...

I realize this comment isn't about food or drink, but what about the change in his clothing? Turtlenecks, multiple layers, no exposure of his chest area as in years past. Covering up his hands with gloves ... Covering his eyes with sunglasses day and night.

Dibblekins

My personal suspicion is that he started taking pain relief to deal with problems with his hips and knees sustained over years of frenetic dancing (some of his moves are suggestive of someone with hypermobility) and that this led to liver damage (cirrhosis).

.

I've been thinking about the following factors:

.

* I noticed he was starting to get a slightly yellowish hue to his skin which is indicative of liver problems;
.

*the low red blood cell count mentioned (another symptom of liver disease);

.

*the loss of appetite;

.

*the stomach problems / nausea reported by the chef;

.

*the weight loss;

.

*the lapse into unconsciousness on the 'plane (referred to as 'stupor');

.

*the fact that he was wearing clothes that completely covered him from head to toe (bruising is another symptom);

.

*the fact that the doctor was coming round on the morning of his death with blood test results (possibly to confirm end-stage liver disease - the maximum score on which indicates about 90 days left of life);

.

*P's hints in his songs and performances that he didn't have long left (cirrhosis is ultimately fatal, without, usually, a liver transplant);

.

*the fact that JWs won't allow organ transplants (a liver transplant being, really, the only potential solution);

.

*the fact that the cause of death was cited as being Fentanyl toxicity - cirrhosis slows the liver’s ability to filter medications from the blood. When this slowdown occurs, medications act longer than expected and build up in the body;
.

* the fact that the family seem content to allow his cause of death to be listed purely as accidental Fentanyl overdose - because, actually, if liver damage makes one more susceptible to toxicity then, yes, the Fentanyl could WELL be the actual cause of death (perhaps any liver damage wasn't - yet - at the point of being fatal).
.

I'm posting what I consider to be a very informative site on the topic:
https://www.niddk.nih.gov...facts.aspx

.

Please be kind - it IS only my speculation...It just seems to make sense to me, given the absence of anything more from those 'in the know'.

Or sleeping disorder. He told someone after a long recording session - it might have been Mavis Staples or Rosie Gains, I can't remember - that sleeping was a waste of time. To which they replied, well I'm gonna go waste some time then. lol

Are there that many photos of him wearing gloves in the later years? He was wearing gloves when he appeared on The View in 2010 so that wasn't a new thing. And there are lots of photographs of him wearing sunglasses at different events over the years. I do think the afro made him look a lot older. Couple that with (I think) some noticible weight changes in the last few years...
