I HATE that the media gets to rehash the same story that it has been telling since April 22. We should flood social media with positive Prince stuff and not let them control the narrative.

The truth is the truth, and truth is always positive. It's positive because it frees one, and immediately negates any illusion people have been living in. Prince dying from Fentanyl toxicity is the truth. The illusion was "his body just broke down", or "it was suicide", or whatever. Those are romanticized versions of rumors. It's not negative, or positive, it's just the truth.

All that said, I totally feel you on this. I think though, that maybe it's fair to restate, people should flood S.M. with love. There is room for that, of course. Lots of love, respect, and appreciation. But one cannot distract from the truth, period. It always shines through.

Why should they ignore the facts?

And do you really think this news is going to change the public's general perception of Prince? I think the response to his death has proven just how admired/respected he was/is. His tragic end won't change that.

Im more inclined to just ignore news for a few days until this dies down again.
