Now that we have facts, I am calling upon my fellow orgers to highlight the poor journalism and blatant LIES that surrounded the events of Prince's passing.

Please take the few minutes to contact the “journalists” expressing how they failed in their duty to report factual news and how disgusting it was of them to lie about someone’s death.

Perhaps we could start a list of the journalists' names, their contact details and their deceitful article? I’ll begin:

1. Chris Pleasance (Daily Mail)email twitter - article

Don't see the point in it because the four pathologies may have been running concurrent maybe three or four. Iotw..he may have had aids, cancer, bad hips, Fentynal addiction. But the thing that actually KILLED him was the overdose.

And because they aren't telling the other three, we will probably never know the FULL story.

When you're unhappy with a person or situation sometimes you have to stand up and give a clear and firm "NO".

If their twitter feeds and e-mail accounts are flooded with complaints, at least they'll know they're not respected in their field of work.

Please help.

they already know they're not respected. they just don't care. enough people give them hits to justify their work and line their pockets. that's all that matters to them.

The best way to deal with these publications is to:
1. Not buy them.
2. Not read them.
3. Not talk about them.
4. Not post about them.
5. Not share them in social media.
6. Turn them around at the grocery checkout stand.

If people do those 6 things, then they won't need to give their energy to those kinds of websites/publications. By posting links, they are making money every time someone clicks through.

By emailing them, all you are doing is letting them know that you read their publication and cared enough to write. They will NEVER change their ways. And thanks to the vast ignorance of the general public, they'll never go out of business.

They are like Trump. They don't give a fuck and will never change their ways because the public is full of morons that will support them.

The best thing you can do is to ignore them, otherwise they will drain you of your energy.

Leave it to Prince's estate to go after them for slander. Even then, it won't make a dent in their profits. There is simply nothing you can do, short of going and bombing their offices. And even then, they will remain in business and not change their ways one iota.

Valid and excellent points in both of your posts. I really hope Prince's estate does go after them even though the news corps' pockets are deeper. I guess I'm just desperate for justice in this world...

With people like Murdoch still alive -- and Prince dead -- you have to wonder how there could possibly be a god. (Obviously there are better examples, but this one is related to this thread.)

I am hoping that Murdoch is asked to be a character on "Game Of Thrones" and that Ramsay Bolton spends an entire season flaying him alive. Murdoch dying from one of/all of the ways folks died in "Se7en" wouldn't be enough. One of the worst human beings on the planet.

While I'm sympathetic to your concern. The audience that reads the daily mail for things like this aren't IMO actually too concerned about reality or facts. They tend to live for this type of trashy sensationalism and made up stories. So their writers will never change.

Change it one more time..

RiotPaisley

As serious as Prince's death is too us, the media lies about far more "important" things than how he died.

I think he'd want us to call them out on that stuff over calling them out on him.
He never cared what they thought.

But I understand you are upset about it- it sucks. We know the truth and that's all that matters.
Surprise, surprise.
Another treat. Another trick.

Yellow Journalism is terrible to say the least, but I do agree with you both, RiotPaisley and lezama on the points you made!!!

The Daily Mail is renowned for its bad journalism. I think now the concept of a newspaper is almost oblosete anyway as with the internet you have access to news 24/7. I stick to official sources - BBC, CNN et AL because the rest, especially second hand celebrity gossip is taken from TMZ anyway.

I think it is astounding how firstly, once someone has died you can just print anything without any vaild proof.

Secondly, by placing quotation marks around the claim they somehow think that can give them carte blanche to make any claim. Literally you could print anything.

Lastly, sadly, once someone is dead you cannot slander them (although it would be libel as it is printed) in the UK and you cannot sue anybody therefore the paper cannot face any financial action whatsoever. It means they could literally accuse someone of mass murder and they could face no action whatsoever. I must also apologise because aside from maybe the Guardian and a few Scientifi articles the UK has one of the worst newspaper industries in the world. We're sorry.
