Forgive me for I have sinned. I committed the mortal sin of listening to "Chelsea Rodgers" last night. Twenty-four hours later I am paying for that mistake. That darn song is still in my head!!!!

Uhh, what exactly does that thread have to do with this one? This thread is about the extreme catchiness of a particular song. The construct of that song - the chorus, the chic-chic rhythm guitar - make it Prince's catchiest song. Is that other thread about that?

Maybe it's the guitarist in me that really latches on to that song. Prince rarely did that skanking chic rhythm, and he places it way high up in the mix in "Chelsea Rodgers." Love that stuff and it makes me love that tune.

Wow, this hate for "Chelsea Rodgers" is surprising. I wish those that do dislike the song would take a moment and explain exactly why. I took the time to explain why I do like the song. I'd be interested in hearing why you do not.

It's more hard to love than it is to hate. The song is not that bad

Yes he did kind of do his own version of uncredited "covers". "Colonized Mind" comes to mind.

Always liked the line "Chelsea's fly from coast to coast" but otherwise not one of my faves. Shelby doing her best Mavis but perhaps a little too loud in the mix.

I like it. But it always makes me think Prince was pulling a fast one for the umpteenth time. Maybe it was me that got too caught up with this being his "secret" child. It definitely marks when I threw my hands up on the whole idea and gave up even worrying about it.

And the real one showed up at this mans service with a slit in her dress damn near to her butt...Im not impressed.
