Words from Morris Hays and Alan Leeds

A friend shared these with me today. I hate starting a new topic. Maybe we can get one single thread with ex-associates' comments?

.

Morris Hays https://www.facebook.com/Mrmorrisk/posts/1688604834739605

.

Alan Leeds https://medium.com/cuepoint/rip-to-my-friend-prince-accbdb744ed7#.kmrpcf1d0

.

Morris has a nice pic up with his post. I think you might recognize them wink

Judging from this tribute and the Hits/B-Sides liner notes, Leeds has to be the most eloquent tour manager that ever lived.

When you think about it Morris has been with him longer than any other band member. Almost 20 years? Early 90's to 2012? I believe he was in Graffiti Bridge as an extra in George Clinton's band also.

.

He's a great guy. I met him a few times.

Wow, those pieces were both powerful and touching.

Thank you so very much for sharing.

Oddly, it helps to understand the pain of others when you have your own pain.

Makes us feel so much more connected.

Thank you.

Nice words from both,

I got a high five from Mr Hayes on his way to the stage at the O2. He grabbed on a bit and wouldn't let go fot a moment, almost dragged me with him. lol

Thanks, a thread with past & present associates comments etc is a really good idea. Mods, can this get a sticky please?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Both good and heartfelt tributes.

The Alan Leeds one in particular was eloquent...no wonder he won a Grammy for the liner notes to The Hits The B Sides!

Truly hope the Prince estate appoint Alan as musical director for any (I hope - there another selfish fan) vault releases!
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

He was interviewed on the Current last week, but I didn't hear it and they don't appear to have an archive.

Also, Tommy, Sonny, and Michael B appear on a just released tribute track called "Welcome 2 Minneapolis": http://blog.thecurrent.or...7642700f2a

Leeds dreamed of a 90 year old Prince - this was a common dream for me, wondering what age he would perform till, what evolution his style would have taken. I would have wished for him to get out more and see if some of his conspiracy theory stuff held up but besides that I was looking forward to whatever insights a greying Prince would have given us and whether he would incorporate new sounds that were hot in the current generations music or keep making new twists on his own thing.
