So at a party in Austin last night I talked to a guy who worked at a home for blind children in Houston called The Lighthouse in the late 80s.

The guy I was talking to was asked to stand near the back of the main meeting room and open the door after hearing a knock - a knock that was to happen sometime in the mid morning.

Eventually he heard a knock and as he opened the door two huge men greeted him. As he stepped aside for them behind them Prince emerged holding a "blue acoustic guitar". Prince shook the guy's hand and then proceeded to play "four or five songs" solo for the blind children to their delight.

The guy at the party - not a huge fan or anything - was totally moved by the musician's humility and kindness with the kids, many of whom he hugged and kidded with "like a joshing big brother".

Then, after about an hour, Prince and the two bodyguards left.

The staff of the center were sworn to not ever comment on the visit with the press.

I love Prince more then I ever... did.... now these stories touch my inner (heart) and being...

I hear the song hero....by Mariah Carey....while reading this...

And makes me think of a song I ones wrote that speaks of heros inside....
