If you could only have one album from each year ending 0-9 what would they be?

You can only have 10. From their own year ending number. So for 9 you pick one release from 1979, 1989, 1999, 2009, etc cetera. Some will be more difficult than others! What's your 10?
0. Dirty Mind, 1980
1. Diamonds and pearls, 1991
2. 1999, 1982
3. The Hits/B sides (no other choice with lyrics really) 1993
4. Purple Rain, 1984
5. The Gold Experience, 1995
6. Emancipation, 1996 (I only get 10 total so I picked this for length)
7. Sign of the times 1987
8. For You, 1978
9. Lotus flower/mplsound 2009

Hardest to pick was 6. Great years all! What's up with nothing new in years with 3?!? Not a huge fan of the 9s so I picked for time :)

Gun to my head, I could live with these after a house fire.

I'd take all the 80's original releases for each year, except for 3, (as you pointed out, no wide releases in the 3's) and 9, because in hindsight, Prince (1979) is the better choice over Batman (1989), Rave (1999) and Lotusflow3r/MPLS Sound (2009).

The only tough call was ATWIAD (1985) over The Gold Experience (1995). but I took ATWIAD because it has "Pop Life" and "Raspberry Beret", 2 of the best songs he ever made, on the same album.
