Prince and Doritos

I'm fairly new to the Prince Universe, but I have one pressing question that I haven't gotten a very clear answer to looking through old threads or really anywhere else on the Internet... What's the connection between P and Doritos? confuse dunce

Apparently in the 90s he used to serve tons of them at the PP Parties.

Just what I've read on here.

Don't blame the dude- Doritos are great

A bag of Doritos is featured briefly in Prince's hand in PR. I don't think he is seen actually eating any in the movie? But I haven't watched it in years and years so don't take my word on this important matter wink

Though if I recall correctly George Lopez stated in the 2014 interview that Prince has fresh tortilla chips on his rider...?

Apparently they were a favorite snack back in the day at least, not sure if he still liked them in recent years. As mentioned above, he was seen w/ a bag in PR and also I know in the RS 1985 Interview when the interviewer arrives at the rehearsal space/warehouse or wherever, he said there was a food table with fruit and several bags of Doritos lol. I read on here that he really loved doritos and also Chips Ahoy.

We all want the stuff that's found in our wildest dreams. . .

Doritos were also a requirement on his old tour riders.

And they were a constant staple during most rehearsals in the 80s.

Prince barely ate normally but had the BIGGEST sweet tooth ever girl, believe it! Once my naive behind brought in a big package of chocolate chip cookies which he used to LOVE himself. I offered the bag to give him some & his eyes lit up like those damn slow loris creatures. Later when I went to eat my own portion, I saw that the little shit had taken a big bite outta each & every cookie so that they were all crescent shaped, & drew me a little doodle of him eating a guitar shaped cookie on my desk! P could really draw, he was good at art. I still ate ‘em though, shit, Prince flavoured cookies! ― Confessions of a previous employee at Prince’s ‘Paisley Park’ studio

His former chef(s) have said he had a notorious sweet tooth. And I've also heard or read that he was gifted in the art of drawing as well. It makes sense tho considering his enormous creativity and talent in musical art. That ability could reasonably extend to other artistic endeavors.

All the kid stuff he probably couldn't afford way back when. How the heck did he stay so thin though, even with the dancing and everything, that stuff will clog the arteries.

Unique article! biggrin I love to see/learn mundane things about P, even though they're not so mundane when applied to him. Just had that charm. Also always like to see his online correnspondences. What a cool cat. cool

That Fridge article was hilarious, but on the real, Dunkaroos were the Suge Knight (read: The Shiz-it) when I was a kid!! Haven't seen them in US stores, but I spotted some in Montreal in 2013.

I remember when the fridge article came out and was featured in the Mustard Museum's Catalog. I have around 15 different mustards too and have been enjoying raspberry mustard for years and finding it cool we had that in common lol

giggle I don't even know the man but this cracks me up about the eating the cookies to a crescent shape! Reminds me of a of Warner Bros artist that I worked for (been over a decade ago) who had an addiction to Oreos...smh...I learned REAL FAST that if I brought myself some, I best bring him some or I would lose my cookies! smile
