My collection would go to my husband. When we first met, we bonded over our love of Prince's music. If he's not around, it will go to my older sister. She introduced me to Prince's music. Growing up, we shared a room and I learned about Prince by listening to her records and reading her copies of Right On! magazine. My sis was the first person who texted me when the news came that he had died. We were both heartbroken.

I sold it all myself and everything is on hard drives now. Would my executor be interested in my massive music/Prince collection? IDK and like TheDigitalGardener I don't care. But I share the whole thing online so others who dig it can enjoy it while I'm alive A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

A few years ago I sold all my vinyl albums and a good chunk of my cds. I was left with a stash of Prince 7" vinyl records that I wasn't sure what to do with. From Bambi onward up to roughly D&P. Some special things, some not so special, some singles in UK, EU and US versions, etc.
I decided to put it up for sale in the forum here and got to chatting with a new fan. He'd only just started collecting. So I sent it to him for free. Most satisfying "sale" I made.
To me, I have the music. I don't care about the plastic anymore. Also, if I die, that's it. There's no god, no afterlife, no nothing. Those I've touched will have me with them forever, just like I have Prince (and many others) with me until I die. That's enough. Anything else is irrelevant in the bigger scheme of things. I have all the physical CD Albums /official DVDs and some singles but I keep them stored. Everything I have it stored on TWO hard drives just in case one one fails. Have had that happen. Always have a back up plan and invest in a second hard drive I say Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Just leave them where they are. I'll be in heaven listening to P sing anyway. Besides only my mom understands the value of my P collection and I don't plan to leave before her. "I don't make the rules. I just play"

Since Prince's passing, it took me two weeks to finally call my lawyer to start the process of creating a will. Just today, I've gone through every piece of media I have, and I've decided to give it to my bro, another Prince fam. I know he'll take care of it. BUT UNTIL THEN....I'm looking for a fireproof safe!!!...lol. Welcome home class. We've come a long way. - RIP Prince

Are we seriously doing this? In case you really were asking, something has been created that provides a good solution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backup Now I wonder what happens to all your CD's and DVD's if your house burns? I volunteer in a charity shop. What I like is the "round robin" nature of it all. People bring stuff in, often the belongings of those who have died. We sort it out, sometimes dust or wash it, display it, and someone comes in who loves it, or has a use for it, they buy it, go off happy, and the charity (cancer in this case) collects money which goes to help those in need. I think of life as a cycle..god knows I love my stuff, but it is just stuff at the end of the day, you can't take it with you etc. I love handbags, so I think I'd like to be buried with my favourite bag over my arm and a copy of the Parade album on my chest.

You know you cannot take it with you, right? I would leave my collection to a friend with whom I went to all ten Prince (and Wendy & Lisa solo) concerts, who is equally fond of his music. 'Liberate My Mind'
