Your favourite 3 sing-along Prince songs

I'm talking about "sing-your-heart-out" kinda singing...

Mine are (in no particular order):

- Anotherloverholenyohead

- Purple Rain

- Forever In My Life

What are yours?

This is not about what you think is the best song, just which songs have the power to suddenly turn you into a singing diva (this question is for both male and female orgers btw).

Peace x

If Im in the car on my own? Any Prince song that is playing...

Ive often wondered how my brain can remember so many lyrics to so many songs, for such a long time. Yet when anyone tells me a joke Ive forgotten it within 10 minutes, or when my wife asks me to buy such and such on the way home from work, I always forget something. I dont even remember how old I am these days.

ive played that album so much, i can almost sing along to every joint, effortlessly...regardless of how little vocal skill i have...i always felt like Arrogance was very revealing, as far as P's personal and spiritual disposition at that time...and WORD, ill shout out PIMP RAG TOOTSIE POP AND A CANE!, whenever i can...like when im playing ball, or an occasional video game, with my sons, ill say it after made shots...i always loved Arrogance/The Flow...in fact, that may have been some of Tony M's best bars...im gonna play them joints now
cool

that 7 song sequence in the middle of the Symbol album is perfection:

Sweet Baby
The Continental
Damn U
Arrogance
The Flow
7
And God Created Woman

that alone makes that album Top 5(at least) in P's catalog...not to mention the 4 great opening songs

Exactly the same for me. I listened to it non-stop when it came out as this was just when I was getting into P, and still love it as much today. Some quintessential Prince on it. And God Created Woman is one of my all time favourite songs. In fact I think I've had this conversation with you before!

Cool, I do that too with most songs - adding my own vocal arrangements. I find that most of Prince's songs are a good base for creative singing. And I haven't had any complaints from the neighbours yet. wink

I can't resist belting it out when I hear 7 start to play. My other top two kind of depend on the day and my mood. I would put purple rain and beautiful ones in my top 3.

I am always having lyrics weave their way into my thoughts, though, and I find myself singing. Like this morning, my husband sent me a pretty long text, when he should have just waited until he got home so we could have a meaningful conversation together. As I was reading his text, I suddenly heard myself singing in my best Prince voice -- "In this digital age, you could just page me. I know it's a rage, but it just don't engage me. I like the face to face....."

This is a fun thread biggrin I'm gonna go with

•I Wanna Be Your Lover

•Erotic City

•Mountains

and because I can't just narrow it down to 3...

•Bambi (with a lot of air guitar included)

•The Beautiful Ones

•I Would Die 4 U

•7

From now on, 4 U I shall be wild 💜
