For me, he wasn't some far off icon. He was my friend.

When I told him I didn't have time to work with him because I believe in honoring prior commitments, he wouldn't have it so he put me on retainer so I would show up at Paisley Park at his command.

That's a great tribute. It makes me happy that Prince was supportive of her, and without alterior motives.

MPLS has been a favorite Prince tune since I heard it at Glam Slam as a teen, and I still love it. I just found the MPLS maxi online, with The Ryde Divine on it, and it kicked my ass. I hope we can hear more of their work together.

That is so true! Hmmm

That's disappointing to hear about Oliver Lieber being a dick. I always liked him as a musician, and of course he comes from great music heritage.

But maybe he's different or better now. Who knows.

Agreed. I like him with fDeluxe, and he's provided a lot of input production wise, and of course musicianship.
