batman89 said: It's one of his best lyrical works for sure. The version with the NPG from the Gold Experience era is incredible musically, just want Prince's vocals instead of Sonny's on it. The song is actually a co-write between Martika and Prince. She wrote the lyrics as a personal prayer and he fashioned them into a song.

For me, the Paris 98 version satisfies that want. Very easy to get hold of, at the moment, too. "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

Love the song but to me this is certainly NOT one of his best and most beautiful songs, it's a bit too simple to be his best song ever, besides he co-wrote it with Martika.

the song is great but the story and context of its creation shows more about the man, grabbing the journal and taking someone elses words and pumping out a very beautiful song. ** do something, before we're gone , and we're just a rock where a world went wrong...**
