My collection has been ripped into Apple Lossless format on my Mac and is piped out of iTunes into my vintage 1967 H.H. Scott stereo console, which can be controlled from anywhere in the house via my iPhone...

The credits on the back cover says All Future Rights Reserved and the dialog with the Nurse asking Mr. Nelson have u taken your medication (Clouds) are very freaky but let's not get into that right now. The 2 LP version of this is worth it when u get a chance to pick up a copy at your nearest wreckastow and it is beautifully pressed.

What do you think is the best way to listen to Prince's music? Obviously with records, but... does the quality of the amplifier matter and speakers? I don't have a very high-tech setup myself, but have always wondered how much better it is for the cost.

Yes, the quality of the amplifier, speakers (or headphones) matters A LOT, but that doesn't necessarily mean it has to be super expensive. The advice I would give to anyone wanting to build a good hifi system is to do a good amount of research, think outside the box (meaning big box retail places like Best Buy, Fry's, etc.) and most of all don't be afraid to buy used!

My speakers are one of the few things in my current system that I bought new (Spatial Audio M4s). Most of my equipment was bought used from audio equipment marketplace sites like Audiogon or USAudioMart, and even from eBay and Craigslist, over a 5-6 year period. I've also had everything from bookshelf speakers to magneplaners to single drivers, all bought used, all in excellent condition, for well below what you would pay new for them. I've learned that people who are really into home audio tend to take great care of their stuff..... and that they also like to get more new stuff and sell the "old".

(By the way, in general I don't think vinyl is the BEST way to listen to music. I'm not a format specific guy, hence why I have so much equipment. There are +/- to all the formats, in all areas, including with sound quality.)
