That's amazing, actually; that she would mention that. I always thought Gregory was a bit too pedstrian for someone like Prince. I also think "Boy Gregory", if that was on any document (birth, death) was more of a place holder than anything else. Wasn't it one of the nannies that said that when the story was initially leaked?

Mayte checked into the hospital under the last name Gregory. He was a Boy. On the hospital bassinett is says gender and mother's last name for the name of the baby. They probably chose to put this on the birth and death certs for privacy reasons.

She was checked into the hospital under an alias "Mia Gregory" (instead of Mayte Garcia) - when there's no name to the baby, hospitals put "boy" or "girl" plus the mother's last name. Hence "boy" - Gregory.

Ahmir would have been an absolutely perfect name...

and I feel like crying all over again after I had stopped about a week ago.

^^ yeah thats true, the Love Symbol album font looks arabic (on the album cover), and also the VHS video 3 Chains O Gold is from the arab world.

don't even bother. you can post this information here 2999 times and people will still

never mind that his own mother has now said it was Ahmir. it will still be gregory for
some people.

Well, no need to be annoyed. I know I have posted this info before in years past, previous threads, as did others, but there are probably new folks on here, so... I bothered.

It did kind of bug me though, that people would think he (and mayte) would be bizarre enough to name their kid something like that, like after Boy George or something!

But I never thought I'd live to see the day when we'd know his real name (I never imagined Prince'd be... not with us). It's such a perfect name, and beautiful.

Makes me so sad.
