More than anything, I want demos and rehearsals. Could give two shits about normal concerts. Aftershows -- give us those -- soundboard audio and videos.

Imagine if there are demos of Prince singing lead (hopefully not in his wack Morris Day impersionation) on demos for The Time. Or Prince on lead for "The Glamorous Life." I don't need remasters of that. Just release as is.

Longtime fans want something different. They do not want all 25 remixes of "The Continental." They do not want Carmen's demos. How about the tracks that Bonnie Raitt supposedly did? Are they terrible like a lot of non-Prince tracks were from that time period?

The reason none of us will ever hear anything in the vault is because something always catches our fancy and we listen to that one thing to death. That and (assuming he didn't destroy anything) there should be thousands of hours of material in there. If those in charge do things right, they'll make more money than Prince ever saw in his lifetime. I'm guessing it will be a clusterfuck though and those of us that have been fans since the 80s won't see anything until we are seniors or on our death bed.

I just want my headstone to have a solar panel, and wifi. Put a speaker in my coffin so I can continue hearing all of the stuff Prince kept from us over the years for whatever reason. Will the estate/trust continue that and just make much money off of licensing the rights to his music -- or will they be greedy as hell and release everything. I'm hoping for the latter.

I just found out about this before I went to see Bonnie in concert last month. I never knew she had a Prince connection beyond his recording of If I Can't Make You Love Me. If there is the album left that they recorded together, I would love to hear it, good or bad. I want to hear what Prince did for all these years, by himself and with other artists that I don't know about. By the way, Bonnie Raitt did three tribute songs dedicated to Prince during her concert, which was shortly after Prince passed on. Thank you, Bonnie.

Bonnie said the sessions didn't vibe...she said she felt like Prince was treating her like one of his silly protégés and not the seasoned player she was, or something to that effect. She wasn't happy with how the sessions went and I suspect they aren't of any decent quality output. I was curious about those untill I read that...and her perspective seems totally believable given princes history.

Edit
Totally unrelated but it just happened so...

The aftermath of a Hillary campaign even was on CNN. There were people milling around a gym...and u could totally hear the end of let's go crazy blaring in the location.

If they happened somewhere in the 1981-1986 years I would love to have them. But in the time period it happened, I wouldn't care 2 hear them.

Both democratic campaigns have played that at least once at every rally I've seen -- usually before the candidate would come out. It was kind of great before he died, but after Prince died -- the crowd really gets into it. Very touching.

As a completist, I'd like to in the very least hear his demos for the tracks, and her versions. I agree, the time period they were recorded in was a terrible era -- especially for circulating demos. But as a longtime fan of Bonnie's (Sweet Forgiveness is an incredible album), I can't help but want to hear them. We don't even know what the song titles were...

With that said, I imagine the estate would have to first get Bonnie's approval to release her versions (finished or not) -- something that sounds like she might not be agreeable to. You never know though. Maybe she'd agree if the estate said all proceeds would go to a charity of Bonnie's choice.

All speculation.

Wouldn't the two albums be Roadhouse Garden and Dream Factory? So mostly stuff we already have. If I had to choose I would prefer a release of Crystal Ball. That was the album Prince actually wanted to release. It should not be labeled a Revolution album of course, as it was mostly Prince solo, with only small contributions here and there from other people.

"At the end of 1986 there were definitely two albums in the can that never saw the light of day. It's stuff that was recorded with the group and co-written with the group, just a continuation of what we were doing after the Parade album and before Prince made the decision to disband the group at that point." Fink adds that the Revolution members have made "an open offer to Prince's family to put those out as soon as possible."

Most of us know about Roadhouse Garden's existence. What might the other one be?

eek This would be amazing..

Does anyone know what songs would most likely be on 'Roadhouse Garden'? Obviously the title track (lol) but what else?

For reference only:

https://princevault.com/i...use_Garden

While princevault is clear that no track listing is known, from their speculation it would be clear that if these were on Roadhouse Garden there would be no Dream Factory.

Also it has never actually been confirmed that Dream Factory was intended for release as it formed the basis of the tracks for Crystal Ball (along with the Camille album Rebirth of the Flesh) before evolving into SOTT.

It is interesting that Dr Fink has said "two albums in the can" and Prince also said something similar in the Rolling Stone interview. I the past it was always assumed that there was probably several albums worth of material but not actual tracked albums. I expected the Roadhouse Garden album Prince announced in 98 to be more of a compilation of that vast set of tracks rather than an actual album (if that makes sense).

Anyway, I hope this is true and they do get to be released!

That's what I was thinking. Still, it would be good to have an official release of those Revolution outtakes. And maybe The Flesh too?

I'm not sure.

Timeline is correct for DF.

We already have "Dream Factory" in pristine quality in its final configuration (even if it would be nice to have one of the previous configs, but I think Dr.Fink is referring to the final).

The 2nd album is something more obscure, I don't think we can associate it to "Roadhouse Garden" because we know how P worked and RG was something of 1984, not of 1986 (even if some tracks could be retailed for a latest project).

According to PrinceVault, Dr.Fink wasn't in "The Flesh" sessions.

So or he is talking of a separate album we absolutely don't know the existence of (there are some tracks of the era that I haven't seen in any unreleased configuration of any album, like "Splash" to say one).... or there is simply the chance he is talking of DF as a separate 2 volumes (not all that sense, but AFAWK DF is the only finalized Prince & The Revolution album).

Or maybe he is simply talking about unreleased tracks that could fit 2 albums.

Anyway, this won't, this cant, see the light of the day in an official release.

The time they settle who is/are the right heir(s), it would be in 2030. Then, you have Warner, Tidal, NPG...

I'm just hoping a deal was made for HNR3, if it ever exists. But if it was, Jay Z would have boast about it.

Even the last concerts, Prince wanted them to be released, but there hasn't been any talks since then.

So any projects concerning prince releases OR even re-releases (GOLD, MUSICOLOGY, etc.) are dead.

That's why Warner can only re-release Prince's album on niche format : vinyl..Hell, they even want to release it in audio cassette ! That tells a lot...They are stuck.

If its dream factory and other stuff thats seen the light of day in basically the form the Revolution recorded it in then this would be a vanity project (no pun intended) on the part of Fink and the others so surely there is more to it than that, to take tracks released and change the order round *now* would be a slap in the face.

Maybe. Can someone do a shout-out to Dr. Fink on Twitter to ask him to clarify? Maybe after the estate is established, start a petition in support of the albums' release?

Prince had already confirmed in a TV interview there were two finished Revolution albums - so that is nothing new.

.

However, the push to get them released is great news and very big news indeed!

According to some insiders, the vault was a mess, some tapes even had water on it, and wasn't protected at all.

I am skeptical about the fact they succeed in finding all the missing tapes from the 2 unreleased REVOLUTION albums (for instance).

Look at the MJ's vault, it's a mess, to the point that his estate can't release some stuff because they are lost, or partly lost, or destroyed, or there are legal issues. 7 years after Mj's death, only 20 tracks had been released, with 7 of them being only remixes.

Assuming Prince had more unreleased stuff than MJ, I let you guess what a mess it would be to make an audit. And who is gonna pay to make an audit frankly? Nobody.

The Bonnie Raitt sessions included "Jealous Girl", "I Need A Man", and "There's Something Eye Like About Being Your Fool".

The first two tracks leaked last year, but the version of "Jealous Girl" is with Prince's guide vocals. The version of "I Need A Man" we have is with Bonnie.

the configuration the Susan Rogers posted included Sexual Suicide (intro) Power Fantastic In a Large Room With No Light. I don't think those 3 were on the alleged final configuration.

Look, until the estate is settled, zilch is going to happen. And unless there's a miracle, expect a loooong legal battle. Just look at the shit that was flung WRT a memorial service, or how Duane's heirs were left out of Tyka's court action.

.

Let's not forget that there's a huge chance they'll need to pay lotsa taxes because Prince didn't get shit settled.

.

Mark my words: this is going to take years, and in the end some company is going to pony up a lot of dough which Tyka et al will accept just to pay off their costs. And then we're still nowhere. Because now the content sof the vault need to be catalogued and appraised, and plans need to be made on what to release. There's supposedly a fuckload in there, but I'd be astonished if they even bother with anything post-1989 until muuuuch later.

.

Now whatever they decide to release needs to be mastered. Grundman's price is $500/hour IIRC, and I doubt mastering can be done fast.

.

You need artwork and liner notes. Another cost. Is there video associated? Another massive cost.

.

And in the end you cannot just flood the market and expect money to come rolling in. You need a plan, a long-term schedule, etc. You need someone to fund all this.

.

Anyone expecting anything soon is going to be massively disappointed.

From the MTV interview with Kurt Loder back in 1999

.

In Prince's own words @ 10:20 you would find in the Vault:
.
- some amazing Jazz work
- the best tracks that the Revolution recorded
- the more psychedelic rock version of The Time
- the really erotic sensual Prince eek
- the future
.

The three tracks you mention are actually on the 3rd June 1986 configuration (the 2nd reported by PrinceVault).

Let's hope this also will leak in pristine quality, sooner or later.
