It's absolutely astronomical the prices that PRINCE cd's and vinyls are selling for right now on eBAY.

I mean the average price of TGE CD is over $100... The average prince of PURPLE RAIN on vinyl is over $100.

I suppose now would be the time to sell off Prince collections...

if you go to discogs, you can still score the gold experience for 6 dollars...

I had a load of tapes on ebay the week before his death and on Thursday evening when the news broke I sold everything within an hour. It never occurred to me to increase prices though, that would be wrong especially within hours of the mans passing.

I kinda figured P's music and merch would be up for high $$ on eBay. The same thing happened with MJ and Rick James when they passed...I think after a period of time the prices will come down...It really hurts to think that the last recent time I was on eBay looking at P's stuff he was still here.

On this note, by copy of rainbow children is damaged. If anyone has a spare cd copy to sell please let me know

also watch out for fake items. not so much cds but shirts and stuff. So when buying just keep in mind that the estate might not get any of the money.

Yes same here. I had some items from the Piano and Microphone tour listed and they sold instantly in the hour after the news broke. I could have jacked up the prices, but was distraught and not didn't really care about it at the time. I probably left a few hundred $s on the table, but it's ok and some fans got some items for a great deal, so it's ok with me.

I was watching some LP's to add to my collection, the increased 4x the price within an hour of the news. I've got a grand of LP's here by current prices.

Well don't be quick to buy them. A friend of mine who works with WB, says they are in "talks" of releasing his WB stuff and quick. I'm sure they are in talks with Princes people. 1) I think they want a piece of the buck but 2) I think they want material available for those that actually want to purchase it.

I was at the local record store Friday and found a NEW gold experience CD for 14.99. I had to pick it up amog others. Funny i have atleast 4 copies of each prince Cd released, but when I'm out and see one I always have to buy it.

I remember when MJ died, a friend of mine who has some very rare CD single for Smile that was never released, got offered £1000 for it. She told him to piss off.

This for me! Too hard to pass up. I have about 7 copies of the Gold Experience on CD. Lovesexy was my most recent double. Charity shops!

Give it a few weeks and the prices will return to where they were before I'm sure.

Hopefully there will be re-issue of TGE. Should never have been discontinued.

I do not know if I could ever part with my stuff. I have CDs, I have bootleg CDS, I have video collections on VCR. Hell I even have The Holy River casette and it's still sealed. LOL.

I will never part with my Prince memorabilia , more important to me than making money out of them.

I'm just happy i own every single physical album he released. I heard everything is sold out or very expensive.

I do this too, more so in the past and if they are cheap. I have doubles and multiple copies of most of the official stuff on every format. From time to time I sell the extras (as I did with some of the cassettes) and make a good few pounds.

I remember the Fopp record shop where I live had a stack of N.E.W.S cd's a few years ago for £5 each, I went in every day to buy a couple and sold them on, same with 21 Nights and Emancipation.

I've got a load of stuff I could sell right now but I just can't bring myself to get it done. When I do though, the prices will be fair.

A few years ago I put every CD I own onto hard drives and donated to the CDs to the animal welfare charity shop to sell, the reason I did that is I had a massive collection and live in a townhouse so space is at a premium - BUT I am so thankful the only person I kept was Princes - I have every one of his physical releases - so pleased about that and I brought them all properly.

When i last saw it a week ago, the starting bid was $3000 and it had one bid with no reserve. So she has obviously gotten a little greedier. Shame she lost the original last page with his signature on it. left it in the copier! lol. but i'm convinced it is genuine. but not worth 20k. maybe 4k. LOTS of fake prince autographs on ebay now. OBVIOUS fakes.
