Another one....... Who could argue that "Another Lonely Christmas" was and is the best Christmas song of all time? With its Hallowed verse and haunting theme...it personifies all that is true of Holidays;especially, Christmas. Atime for joy but laden with pain and suffering. Could this song have had personal meaning, or maybe it was one sittin' on the shelf- part of the Hit- factory? Whattaya think?

I once read an interview where prince said it wasnt written about anyone in paticular, meaning it wasnt a "real" story.. so he says..
this isnt exactly something I look forward to around the holidays, this is a very sad song. But beautiful | |

Donny Hathaway's "This Christmas" Blows Prince's "Another lonely X-Mas" out of the Water IMHO.Donny made the Most Soulful Christmas Song that I have Ever Heard Period.then I'd say Nat King Cole.His Chirstmas Album is tight followed by Sinatra,Elvis,Jackson 5&James Brown's&Johnny Mathis's as well IMHO.but if push came to shove for One Song then it's Donny all the way.Prince's Song "Another Lonely Christmas" Doesn't do Much for me at all in Hindsight.that Vibe worked with&For "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore". mistermaxxx | |

Actually this song hits home.
Every christmas it seems families fight or argue...or people are slammed with media saying BUY this that or the other... Christ mass is supposed to be for the BIRTH of a child who completely sacrifices all that he has...to give us in this world the FAITH that is needed to know that the father in heaven really loves us...for billions of years love is alive becuz it is created in the BANG. We xhist becuz of it...being lonely at Christ mass is simply seeing that the truth of what it is...is not a HOLIDAY on a calender that is a man made THING a time made up...the birth of christ truly has no date becuz Jesus Christ truly has not died...resurrected from the flesh reborn...Jesus Christ lives...there is joy in knowing this... Being lonely could be becuz we don't remember...that...the most important thing is Loving...thru out...every day we can. Another lonely christmas...yes, I spent many...not for presents of anything received but becuz I had no one to give my love to. so there is ANOTHER LONELY CHRISTMAS in my life to. Thank U. It's certainly my favorite Xmas song but I can't say it's the best. Got a soft spot in my heart for some other Xmas songs I'm afraid...    I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it | |
