Girl, I think I got my tv privileges taken away for months after this because my stepmama didn't like Prince, at all but it was soooooooo worth it.

Prince having to lip sync was a crime. In an era of amazing artists and musicians, most of these music shows like SG, American Bandstand, and Soul Train required artists to lip sync to the recorded track. What a waste. I did like that it was almost a recreation of the music video.

I remember Solid Gold re-aired his episodes during the "P.R."mania. He was too big to be on that show by then.

Thank u for posting this!!!! This sealed the deal 4 me way back when!!! I had heard some of his music on the radio prior to seeing him...but this was the first time I saw him perform....... I was 10 y/o at the time and it blew me away!!!! I was mesmerized by his eye contact with the camera and how he sang LRC!!! It has been an incredibly amazing journey ever since...from the point of watching this episode (I do remember the solid gold dancers "dancing" to his music prior).... Prince became "my thing"!!! and he still IS... this brings back a much needed smile....
