Short ONE NIGHT ALONE LIVE Review in Aussie Street Press .
This is taken from a street paper called "Sydney Scope": ___ Never did like this chap. People call him a "genius" but all I could ever see was a sausage factory, churning out fast jism like "Manic Monday...Sunday...Funday...Runday" et al. However, this three-CD box set recording of Prince live in America displays some pretty awe-inspiring guitar playing, which I mustn't have been paying attention to all those years ago. Your Raspberry Berets and Nothing Compares 2 Yoos are here, as well as Peach, the only Prince song that ever really gave me a chubby. An awful lot here for the fan, I must say. Aussies know fuck all about prince. this review isnt surprising at all. atleast he acknowledges he has SOME talent....which ppl r afraid 2 even admit. Its just typical tho....sticking with what u know (Beret,Peach,NC2U) & not allwoing yourself 2 get a hold of something new. typical of music consumers here. This is just an example of lazy writing. How can the writer hope to write an objective review he or she obviously doesn't like him?
But, that's the Aussie way: an attitude and closed mind are so cool for Aussies. I'm one, and I shared a house with a music 'writer' who thought mindless drivel and incorrect and incoherent writing was cool. Blah. Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop. | |
