I will investigate the heck out of it, whether it is actual music he was working on before he died. It can happen one of three ways his posthumous output.

1. (Overkill and Exploitation) Like Tupac and Elvis, they keep issuing 2 or 3 albums of dubious material, with a few vocals of Prince only and a lot of remixed and reproduced shit (Like all those producers who murdered Michael's material on Thriller25 and Xscape). They will flog this crap to death and the estate or the labels will make millions off gullible fans.

2. (Right ideal and middle ground but room for mistakes) Moderate out put of items and at least 2 or 3 albums of authentic material he was working on, even if it was mediocre, but AOA and Hitnrun Phase 2 proved he could still make great music, while Plectrum Electrum and Phase 1 showcased his unbridled mixed bag output that dominates the post 1996 era.

3. (Less is less apathy) No output or one or two albums with only 7 or 8 tracks and some of those are instrumentals.

For old material the 3 following scenarios take place.

1. (Ideal but risky) All of his WB and many of his post WB albums are remastered and re released with a deluxe version with extra songs and material, a nice market for those who want it, basic albums for newbies/casual listeners and the economy audience. And then the deluxe box sets for the hardcore fam.

2. (More cautious but still useful)Some of the better WB albums are remastered and re released, maybe a deluxe item or two (Like Purple Rain, SOTT and 1999). Lesser known albums to casuelle fans like Dirty Mind and Come not treated this way.

3. (Apathetic exploitation, flogging a dead horse)WB albums are re released with no changes as a mid price range (This has happened, with my wrekka stow selling WB CD albums from 4U up to the Hits (No Come, Chaos and Disorder, Batman, TBE, TGE or The Vault) and vinyl albums from Prince to Purple Rain at marked up prices, but standard production with no extras/frills or incentive to buy the albums.

It is sad as I can see scenario 3 (Less is less) happening with existing music and my guess is it will happen with new material. As I am a fam, I will buy it anyway. With the estate material I have Michael and Xscape, but only have the DVD of this is it and will not get Icon (Then again I did not buy King of Pop either - how many times can you repackage the hits).

I will also buy anything posthumous, as long as it has something new and worthwhile, like with MJ I bought Bad25 and OTW DVD edition as they at least had something new to them. But you probably all understand, when I say MJ material has always had better marketing than anything by Prince.
