Because there's something about Arms of Orion that caused me and many others to pause and wonder whether Prince might just be losing it. It was more than a weak song. It was the first time I felt truly disappointed, even embarrassed, by something Prince had put out there. It pissed me off when it was released as a single and Warners made those crap limited edition CD singles. By the time I got to Diamonds and Pearls my serious collecting days were over. And by the time I heard the song Diamonds and Pearls the damage had been done.

Came here just to say "Silly Game". Awful, awful.

And NPS is a great album.

I really like the bolded songs. I really do.

I´m not too fond of the lyrics for Incense and Candles because they feel like he´s holding back due to his religious beliefs but other than that I quite like it . I also never had a problem with Animal Kingdom, and I have always loved Strollin and the more time passes, the more I like it. Just gets better with time...Strollin´ is a great, lighthearted, sunny, beautiful song.

Da Da Da has Scrap D. and most folks hate that song but I think the beat and Prince´s part are really good.

PS; I met Scrap D. before the song came out, he used to be friends with a friend of mine ( everything totally unrelated to Prince, I just happen to have some friends in Minneapolis), and Scrap is a really nice person. So is TC Ellis.

Too bad they are so often ridiculed around here for what they did during their time with Prince...but I digress.

But, yeah, I really like Da Da Da..Prince´s part is not that bad, I really like his lines in that song.

I really like the bolded songs. Shy was , at the time , considered to be one of the best songs on TGE, but to each his own.

I´m one of the few people on the org who unapologetically likes Lion of Judah. I think if this was recorded and released in the 80s, or if it were an outtake or b-side from the 80s, people would love it and go nuts over it. The music is pretty good, it´s a solid rocker that does not sound as sterile and clean as most of his newer rock songs. The only thing I dislike about it is the chorus...that biblical allegory does nothing for me and reminds me too much of some reggae song. Not the whole song but just that Lion of Judah reference.

Could have been such a strong song if the chorus were different.

What do you dislike about it?
