What song would you have liked Prince to cover?

Thought this would be an interesting topic to discuss, to put our mind off that dreaded autopsy report.
Personally, I wish he had covered Blue Valentines, by Tom Waits.

When I first heard Mono Neon (via his HILARIOUS videos), I had high hopes of Prince acoustic on guitar, with only Mono Neon on bass -- covering the Jaco/Joni songs. (Don Juan through Shadows & Light)

So many of the Joni/Jaco tracks are absolutely stunning -- that I believe he would have been able to add something beautiful to them.

Those songs are so overlooked. I love that Prince saw the genius that is Joni Mitchell (for me "Blue" through "Wild Things Run Fast"). Other than Prince, she's going to have the deepest effect on me when she goes. If that comes anytime soon, I'll probably just die of heartbreak.

You know, I never got into Joni Mitchell. Would like to give it a try. What album would you recommend I start with?
The same happened with Billy Joel, for instance. And one day i decided that there must be something to him that I was missing out on and listed to a couple of albums. Was totally mesmerized by the song Tomorrow is Today.

Mustang Sally with those thick, layered Prince harmonies singing "ride, Sally, ride" in the background and a deep, thuimping bassline.

Sometimes butter makes cream.

Green Day's Good Riddance (Time of Your Life), The Beach Boys' God Only Knows, The Beatles' The Long and Winding Road, and The Rolling Stones' Paint It Black.

He did Long and Winding Road during the 21 Nights stint in London.

you know, for a while now i have REALLY wanted him to cover Hello by Adele. at school on the day he passed away (before i found out), i was filling up my bottle with water and in my head i could hear him passionately singing "im sorry for the things that ive done" or whatever the line is. i don't like the song, but would love prince to have done it.
eye dont think U heard me . . .

I've had to think about this one.

.

Tina Turner - Better Be Good To Me

The Beatles - Help

David Bowie - Rebel Rebel or Suffragette City

Michael Jackson - Burn This Disco Out (it'd have been great on one of his first two albums)

Bruce Springsteen - Glory Days (Prince is great at storytelling)

Mamas & Papas - Dream A Little Dream

Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4
