The Prince memorials at Paisley Park are coming down today

Today I took the long way home so I could swing by Paisley Park. I didn't have enough time to park blocks away, but when approaching Audubon Rd I saw that it was open to traffic. I turned in and at a glance it looked like random fans were taking things down from the fence. I parked to walk past all the loving tributes and memorials that still hung on the fence one more time. I placed my hand on the gate that had opened so many times to let Prince fans and so many musicians in.

Then I asked one of the ladies taking things down if they were disposing of everything. I was so happy to hear her reply. Each section of the fence was given a number, and bins with each number sat filled to the brim beneath each section. She said that only the fresh flowers that had died would be disposed of. All the rest will remain in the separate bins from the section on the fence that held them. This really warmed my heart the amount of RESPECT being shown to PRINCE is absolutely, loving and amazing. The City of Chanhassen and Paisley staff have been champions for Prince!!

I'm not sure what will become of the tributes to Prince in the bins, but it made me hope that at one point they will photograph the contents of each bin. Then in some way they could share the photos for the World to see. I saw many tributes from fans all over the World hanging on that PP fence. Thank U to All those who came or sent tributes to show their LOVE for PRINCE heart

I am now 48 ....and been a follower since maybe age 12+/-....I had 'many Prince, Vanity Time, etc tape collections' which over time have had to replace (some). Prince was a constant sound in our house from any one of the albums at any given time. I didn't really delve into the personal life, or lyrical meanings...oddly enough...until lately. ALways so busy..

Anyway, in retrospect....One thing I do wish that I was more of a Nosy Nelly. Perhaps I would have ventrued to Minnesota to check out PP for myself It seems like a truly grand time. Definitely finding that as time goes on, I actually feel even sadder than the first news...

This evening, I was hitting up youtube checking out LIVE perfmances...the obscure, the popular, Arsenio Hall, etc. It is such a treat to hear all of these live shows...IT takes me back and so good. We are really lucky. Esp thiose of us that grew up in that era from his begimnings. I think it's totally differnet if you lived in it live. It is so nice, to see varied performances..Even if the same song, it was a treat to see it done different ways...

Oh well, I am sorry to see things coming down. I really hope in the near future there is a Prince Celebration/Night out. I feel I really need one...
