Dear Grammys, If you want to do a musical tribute to Prince, other than former band mates of Prince, ask Janelle Monae, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Andre 3000, Maceo, and Lenny Kravitz. That's the list. If they can't do it, don't do one.

D'Angelo better always be a part of any tribute to Prince. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Damn right...
While he's worked with a few mediocre vocalists in his day, he's also worked with Rosie Gaines, Shelby, Judith Hill, Andy Allo... all of whom are infinitely more talented than Madonna.
These are musicians and singers Prince respected, enjoyed, and worked with.

I wish they got a mix of new artists and classics. I'm quite partial towards watching the Weeknd or Janelle play with The Revolution.

If they can't do it, don't do one. No. Bad idea. They can be guests, but if you're going to play Prince, then use his musicians. Set aside for now how disrespectful it would be, leaving out The Time, Sheila, The Revolution and Andre (yes, fucking Andre, essentially his brother) Neto, Bland...etc. would be monumentally stupid. In this particular instance, the musicians used are AT LEAST as important as the vocalists.
