Hi - I've lurked off and on for years, finally signed up after 4-21.
My son got tickets for us and a couple of his mates to go to this, but he could only get seated tickets. As he's on the waiting list for a heart op, and I have a painful hip that I can't stand/walk on for more than a few minutes (yes, I have tonnes of empathy for what P must have gone through) I wrote to the venue and told them about our situation and asked if they knew whether there would be seats released upstairs closer to the date, as really both of us need to be seated.
I've heard back from them and certainly at this moment, the promoter has requested that the upper levels are closed for these two gigs. The venue did explain our situation to the promoter, but unfortunately, there wasn't anything they could do.
I wasn't told why, but I thought I'd post a message here to let you know as a few people had said they would go if they could get seats. I don't know why they are keeping it closed, so I don't know if there is any chance at all that they may change their minds closer to time or not...but assuming that they won't change their minds, I am not sure how my son and I are going to manage this one...if anyone has any ideas, please let me know!
BTW - we went to CeeLo's gig at The Palladium last Thursday...he did Jungle Love and The Bird. I don't know what material he is going to do for this gig, but at his gig, he did the uncensorsed version of Forget You with an FU intro/preamble that would have probably filled up Prince's swear jar! LOL
PS - I chose my username after about an hour's worth of trying to register with every name that I usually use online for myself, which of course, were already taken...the combination of frustration and sadness at that time wore me down, and looking at it now, I have picked a username that sounds like a domain name seller spammer! Is there anyway I can change my username to something less spam-like?

Hi everyone.
I've been reading lots of posts on this forum ..... this is the first time I write on here tho. Like many of you I miss Prince terribly. I keep listening to his music non stop and simply can't get enough of him. When I learnt of this event I thought wow that would be awesome if I could attend. Just don't have anyone to go with because none of my friends were Prince's fans like me. And of course my hubby never really liked Prince's music
So if anybody is attending on their own please send me a pm so perhaps we could go together

Just bought tickets... Seems so right to go. Used to go to many Prince concerts with my cousins since 1988. Lost my cousin last year & one of her young sons is severely autistic. Myself & her sister miss her greatly & now we are both missing Prince a great deal too. Going to be very emotional, but a celebration too. Like i say, this tribute just feels right!

I dont know if I am happy or sad to go to this. My wish for my 40th birthday (22/06) was to see Prince one more time in the Piano and Mic tour....and now I am going to a tribute for him on 24/06. I dont know if I will cry or enjoy but I just bought the tickets and right now I just feel sad

Interesting that the venue seems to be very Purple. I am also surprised that there are still tickets availale at this time. As it will be standing just hope everyone gets a good view, especially those who aren't the tallest.

I fly in from Germany for The Time. I need some sweat, singing and tears with people who understand our tragic loss.

Your username is fine and good, keep it. As to the venue, seating and disabled/handicapped accessible areas with seating would have to be available for sale (even if portions of a show have standing room also). Typically, if a person has any health, age, or medical condition that requires sitting or other accomodations (such as wheelchairs, crutches, an oxygen tank, you name it) for an event, they'd also accomodate a +1 guest to accompany each such person in the same seated area. I suggest telling the ticket sales person at the venue you need a medically suitable seat in such a designated area for you and your +1, you should not be required to disclose further details as to why. Your son should also request his seat in such an area, and they should also accomodate his +1 there.

Hi Folks Really excited about the upcoming shows. To answer some of the questions: - All four acts will perform on both nights - Show starts 7pm as the venue curfew time is 11pm, being in a residential district - Children are welcome to attend - under 15s must be accompanied by an adult - The venue will be opening the upstairs seated section - some of it will be open to general admission ticket holders, first come first served
Let me know your thoughts on the running order, ie who should open the evening and who should then follow. We are currently working on that.
Thanks! Autism Rocks | |

I see that they are now going to release some upstairs seating too (Thank you Autism Rocks-I can't tell you how grateful I am for this!) Big hug!!! Xxx

Hi Folks The venue doors open at 6pm and the venue will require music to finish at 11pm as it is in a residential area. As we have four performances, the first will start at 7pm. The running order we are planning is: 7pm: Larry with his full band 8pm: CeeLo with his full band 9pm: Morris with his full band (incl Monte Moir and Jellybean) 10pm: Larry, CeeLo, Morris for finale 10:15pm: Mark
Let me know what you think.
(Can a moderator please pm me to discuss meet n greets?)
Cheers! | |

We cant wait to share an amazing night with you all paying Tribute to the one and only Prince after he supported Autism Rocks with 3 amazing shows in London and Dubai!
Just wanted to let everyone know that seated tickets are available for general admission on a first come first served basis.
If you are travelling from outside of London there are many hotels within walking distance of the venue but just a heads up rooms are going fast!
Anyone who would like to attend under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
We have tried our best to organise a fitting tribute, we really hope you enjoy the shows!
See you all there!

Would be cool if it could be arranged for purple glow sticks to be handed out like at the last o2 London show, and a no photo & video policy! Live in the moment , not through a screen!

Hi, since you asked, here's what I think: great combination of acts, thank you for organising this!
However, I would have planned this in a different order: 1. Ceelo: of the 3 acts he has the smallest link with Prince 2. The Time: of course very much P-related, but it's been a while. A good live act but not as good as GCS 3. GCS: Larry was very close to P, strong live act, hard to follow 4. all together Just use Mark while people are coming in and inbetween acts (personally I would never go to a venue like the Apollo just to watch a dj spin records)
Any chance you'll change the order after the first day? [Edited 6/14/16 11:50am]

I think you're definitely right to end with Morris Day & The Time - it's the act with the strongest Prince links and the one which I'm sure most people attending would have been most keen on seeing, so maybe a slightly longer set too would be great. Personally I'd prefer Larry on 2nd but I can live with CeeLo being in that slot instead...
I would definitely have Mark Ronson inbetween acts whilst they're swapping over - it'll keep the energy up and distract people from the boredom that can be listening to techs line check band equipment. You could easily accomodate 15-20 minutes between acts for him and it would make the evening flow better too.

Aaah man. Not sure if I can do it - but "The Time" are one of the few acts that I haven't seen live and would love to - just hope they do a UK tour at some stage. Regards the other acts, not a fan of other people singing Prince songs - just make you miss him more!

I am attending on my own. I'll fly from Germany to London for the tribute. Wife and kids stay at home. I have to do this. Need some Prince-Family companionship. And I never saw Morris Day and The Time live. But did I understand right? The DJ-Set ends at 11 pm?

So looking forward to the 25th June for this tribute. It should be a special night. As someone who has a child who is on the autistic spectrum, and who has loved Prince's music since I first saw the Lovesexy Live tour as a 13 year old, two massive elements of my life are combining. After Lovesexy I was fortunate to see prince numerous times in concert, including The Nude Tour, Diamonds and Pearls, Act II, One Night Alone, 21 nights, Indigo Club, Hop Farm, Hit N Run at Koko and later on at Manchester arena.
It won't be the same without P there, but it will be a fitting tribute night, especially if we hear some versions of his music played by all the artists in attendance. question is - what prince tracks (yes including those from The Time's orginal couple of albums) would you like to hear played live by these bands?
For me to hear Morris sing Jungle Love and C.O.O.L will be good, but I'm not sure what specific Prince track I'd like to hear them cover. unallunahiyh?

Hi, just wanted to check this running order is 100% legit? Only as I'm getting a train after work and it'll take a good 90 mins to get to the venue so looks like I'll enter mid Larry Graham. Just wanted to make sure I don't miss any of Morris Day.

Why is this thread no longer stickyfied? I thought the thread had been deleted. These tributes are major events in London & there are fans coming from all over Europe. This should still be a sticky in the Music & More forum & not shoved into the wilderness of other forums!! Anyway CherryMoon57 have many people contacted u? I'm staying in Hammersmith & will be out & about from 5pm. I'd love to meet fans for a drink beforehand. ----- I See All Of Ur Creations As One Perfect Complex, No One Less Beautiful Or More Special Than The Next 💜💜💜
