This says a lot about how beloved Prince was world-wide Kudos to Minnesota public radio station The Current - and the massive number of listeners around the world who tuned in their streaming P's music April 21. "A strong spirit transcends rules." - Prince

Some aquaintenances of mine here in MN are often surprised when I tell them how popular Prince was around the globe and how many fans he had from all over the world as evidenced here on the org and now this radio tribute is further proof. The Current and Prince have had a longtime mutual respect. It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

sonshine, that's great The Current and Prince had mutual respect ... I got that impression reading the blog about how he agreed to allow them to play his music. As hard as it's been to process and grieve P's loss, I'm grateful that The Current paid tribute with the music streaming as well as the special tribute show (with interviews of people he worked with or knew him well) and they originated the idea of the simulcast of "Nothing Compares 2 U" at 7 hours and 15 days. Well the Niagara Falls was for the Queen's birthday since Canada is still under the British Monarchy, but I think the rest were for him. Love is God,

Some of these were faked. the eiffel tower was a fake and the Empire State building was an old picture from a few years ago. Niagra Falls was actually a celebration of Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday which fell on the same day as Prince's death, as was a tower in Toronto. There were a few other fakes as well such as the Chicago River. But not to take anything away, a lot did happen too and even the fakes are a tribute too.

according to a verified twitter account for niagra falls, they decided to share the tribute with prince. I don't argue with people about my opinions. Scram. I said what I said.

Would of been nice and cool if he knew how much he was loved when he was alive too .

I never got the feeling that Prince was beset with self-doubts. I'm pretty sure he knew how much he was loved.

Yeah, I think his live shows gave him a good indication of how much he was appreciated. I think he stopped looking at record sales a long time ago and relied on the adoration of his fans at his shows as an indication of his popularity and influence. I think he was appreciate more abroad than in the U.S.

Greetings from Manchester.
The Co-Op, one of the largets employers in the city, did a rather nice tribute here. Also several screenings of Purple Rain, all jam-packed. #RIPPrince
