What random Prince song makes you cry?

It doesn't have to be a sad song but is there any song that just makes you burst into tears? Right now I still can't listen to Diamonds and Pearls but now I'm adding Adore to the list. I can't stop crying and honestly I don't know how I can see the screen because of the tears. I miss him guys sad

Purple Rain

Sometimes it Snows in April

The Ladder

Revelation

I Can't Make U Love Me

I haven't been able to play Purple Rain since he passed away, watch any clips or anything featuring that song. That song has been my "go to" song for nearly 30 years whenever life dealt me lemons.

I just can't face that one yet........

Too many to mention actually. But for now I'd say The Ladder, Condition Of The Heart, Purple Rain, SISIA, The Question Of U, Holy River and NC2U. In all cases the live versions get to me more than the studio versions. And his version of Morherless Child and his performance on While My Guitar Gently Weeps with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Steve Winwood.

The Guitar Weeps video - made me cry hard too, because it shows his talent so much and reminds me I wont see it again - and he is so happy in that video too, but it made me cry like a baby

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Holy River did it to me this morning - not a song I loved when it came out, but now just feels devestatingly prophetic.

No it's not sad, you're right. But seeing it makes me miss him and his talents. It makes me sad that there won't any more of those kind of performances.

Electric Intercourse. OMG, can't hold it together when I hear/see him perform that. There's a bootleg concert video going around from 1983 where he performs it. Too much!

Have U had your + today?

I watched a video last night I found on Youtube. An acoustic clip from Musicology 2004. Started off so cute. Him playing with the audience. Then close to the end he started with Sometimes it Snows in April. Couldn't handle it. Tears started streaming. My eyes are welling up now as I type thinking about it. That song has been difficult for me since he passed. Others that come to mind that I can't listen to without starting to choke up - Holy River and Condition of the Heart. I hate that he's gone. So darn much I hate it.

Arms of Orion always makes me cry. Very Jughead-esque in that respect.

Funny thing is when SISIA was released I hated it because it broke my heart and made me want to cry, then I saw UTCM and hated it even worse to the point I refused to listen to it for almost 2 years, until I got over it. Well now here we are and those feelings are right back again.

Oddly, listening to N.E.W.S. last night, North made me very sad, none of the others did (East, West nor South), but North for some reason had me tearing up very badly.

That performance is fantastic. I can understand that it makes you cry. To me it was bittersweet to watch. I was smiling from ear to ear when I heard him say to the audience: "I was looking in the mirror when I wrote this one". He was talking about Cream. He had a great sense of humor and there is NO ONE who could play any audience the way he did.
Today I was talking to a co-worker of mine about Prince and he was the first person I ever spoke who understood what Prince is about, even though he's not a particular Prince fan but a music lover in general. He said: "Prince is not just about music alone. Prince is for the eyes AND the ears".
