Out of the mouths of babes

Have you heard your kids say things about Prince? Write them here. I'll go first -

Daughter Age 7 - Watching Diamonds and Pearls - her favorite part is the scene with the children.

Her - Mama? Did Prince have any little girls?

Me - No, sweetheart. he had a little boy but he died.

Her - Did he want to have children?

Me - Yes, I think he wanted many, but it was not to be.

Her - I wish I could be his little girl.

Me - Why would you want to be his little girl?

Her - He's magical.

Then on another day, we were looking at pictures of Prince and I commented,

Me - I love the pictures where he is not made up, just natural, just Prince.

Her - (Very animated) I love when he sings from his heart, when his spirit glows.

Huh? To say the least I was just floored. There are few songs I can share with her because of

lyrics but she loves listening to Starfish, Diamonds, Musicology, and knows all the words.

Just wanted to share this young insight. Peace and Love.

Thanks for sharing. The day after Prince passed on, I was walking out the door with my daughter, taking her to school. She held my hand and told me it was ok, I will be ok. She know I was into his music, she never knew how much.

Last week I was listening to The Ladder from the BBC documentary, she said she loved the song. Very beautiful. Kids are truly angels and blessings from the Heaven above.

All of my kids (8, 5 and 3) love his music, but my 3 year old is probably the biggest Prince fan of the three of them. She loves his songs, but admires his musical ability more than anything. She really connects with his "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" guitar solo. She seriously has begged to watch it at least 4 times a day. She has his performance memorized, and will imitate all his motions and facial expressions.
I had dreams of taking my kids to one of his concerts when they got a little older. I am still a little in denial that that will never happen. Makes me sad.
They have noticed that we don't see the purple lights on anymore when we drive by Paisley. Their favorite color has been declared purple now.
