I heard she has composed her own song as a tribute to Prince. I don't think she is singing one of his songs.... (but let's hope she doesn't pick up the guitar and try to play it). | |

A Mix of "God" and "Like a prayer" with recording of his rare guitar jam" would be cool. Then go into Baltimore social justice and stop the killing theme ! She can't play anywhere as good as prince but she can play.

she somehow came up with some good stuff in the like a prayer era and before, I think that would have more to do with her ability to manipulate writers, producers etc.., than any talent on her part. she used sex to do everything pretty much and she was intelligent, no doubt, but talented? Not sure where you got that she's singing "Purple Rain" in that, but you're diggin'...a bit too deep. . That pic of her is also from the early 80s, not current. It could be anything, but she's probably just making reference to the tribute preparations. Let's not overthink it. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking. |

Everyone has done Purple Rain. I would hope she can do something above that. She has to realize she's the last one of that era and she has a captive audience. Madonna will fail if she self-indulges, plays the same thing as everyone else does, and then doesn't make a really great social statement that speaks to the entire world about what has transpired since the 80's and how we are at a breaking point. We either kill ourselves off one by one, kill each other off, or completely destroy our planet- either from disease due to how we treat the environment, or each other, EVERYBODY got a bomb.... The similarities between today and the 80s is striking. AIDS/Cancers/Zika Crack/Opiods STILL RACIST, SEXIST, and HOMOPHOBIC as fuck/ starving kids... Failing schools... Dirty politics Ugh!!!! She should use this to spread some deep love. She can musically articulate Prince's message very well. She's a performance artist. And DAMN good at it. You cannot deny her that. In my OPINION she should preach his message and not really try to pay musical homage. That is for the MPLS SOUND. In August. IN MINNESOTA End rant. Madge, if you're listening- we're waiting. And... I really hope Madonna doesn't try to do Vanity. If Prince could grow up and sew a butt into his pants, she can class it up to pay tribute to THE GREATEST musician to EVER live. I just saw the BET Lifetime Acheivemenf Award from 2010 for the first time, and I wish they would just have Madonna introduce a replay of that to be honest. Those women brought it and did him proud. I'm so glad that he got to experience that kind of tribute himself. | |
