It should not have gone down this way

still seething about what a mess this has been and wil be.

Mysterious circumstances, reckless and careless behavior, no will, uncertain heirs, love children coming out of the woodwork, shade from past associates to others, odd claims from old friends, competing memorials..etc...

JFC..PRINCE WHY DIDNT YOU HAVE THIS ALL ON LOCKDOWN. Sloppy is not your way man.

No, it shouldn't. But it did. Jimi Hendrix shouldn't have choked in his own vomit. Brian Jones shouldn't have drowned in that pool. It sucks. They're gone and we're still here. It sucks. I know. Life isn't fair. And still... Life goes on...

I agree. It shouldn't have rolled this way for Prince or any of the other musicial genius throughout our history etc. I'll quote a Billy Joel lyric that seems it up the very best for our fallen legends . "Only the good die young." Well said, Billy. RIP y'all <3

"So here I sit in my lonely room
Lookin' for my sunshine
But all I've got is two cigarettes
And this broken heart of mine
So let the rain come down
Let the rain come down
Let the rain come down, down"

It does kinda suck. We didn't know Prince very well it appears. All those NDAs and his own grip on what's known about him worked rather well.

After Freddy Mercury died, there was a song by Queen (sung by Brian May), that had the same line.

If you follow every single rumor you're going to get whiplash.

.

Speak for yourself, I knew Prince very well. He put more of himself "out there" in a more vulnerable way than most artists. But you do have to follow the art in depth to see it. Whatever facts come out won't change that. People do the things people do. It's no news flash. Anything else is sensationalism.

Oh Freddy Mercury. Another performer/musician who died tragically young. Sad. As a kid, I liked Queen a lot. Somehow the comparsions btw the artists lyrics slipped by me. Do you know which song was it, NorthC?

The bottom line is that we have everything Prince wanted to release. Did he want to release the rest of it? We don't know. He was never, ever definitive on saying that he wanted anything or everything in the vault released.

So as far as music goes, IMO we have what Prince wanted us to have. And I am grateful for that. Anything else is just a bonus as far as I'm concerned, unless a will turns up where Prince lays out exactly what he wants done (or not done) with his remaining body of work.

Concerning his estate...I'm not an heir. Neither are you, or anyone else here. What happens to the value of it really isn't our concern. Sure, we want the best for the heirs but we are not in a position to infulence that.

I think what all of us want most of all is for Prince to be respected in death as much as, of not more than, he was in life. As it stands right now, that is happening without question. The tributes to Prince have been non-stop, world-wide, and frankly unprecedented in my lifetime for any artist.

No matter what happens after this, I am comforted by the fact that the world knows what an exceptional man he was.

yeah, I know.

I don't think Prince realized just how he would leave his fans in such loss/pain.

Now we are left all alone in a world without taxicabs.

You know what I mean? No where to go from here.

Nothing more to look forward to. Never see/hear him play his guitar again live.

I can't even comprehend.....Compute.

Thx for the info on the song. I will seek it out on YT tonight. Queen was powerful band. With some of the most memoriable album tracks (even sountracks). And in my opinion, that was largely do to Freddy's voice. He was a true unique. I'm sure Freddy is enjoying his reunion with his old singing buddy, Bowie up in the heavens. With all the talents in da house, you know theres one WILD nonstop jam session going on lol. LONG LIVE ROCK Y'ALL!

I agree, it feels like a bad dream. The mess and speculation that's followed is so not worthy of him. I think that's making the possibility of closure so much more difficult for me.

what really makes it so hard to accept is this tragedy seems like it was preventable.Yeah I know we don't know all the details yet,but I just can't shake the feeling that this death could have been avoided.I felt the same way about MJ's death confused

Sigh... for me its sad because we just had him sad

And I don't like the way the events have played out. I thought someone like him would have a will in place because he was so militant about his image, music, etc.

I feel the same and that is why it is so hard to accept. If he had a terminal illness (which I would not wish on anyone) then you would think at least he is at rest and not suffering, but I cannot reconcile the man I saw in Sydney at the Opera House only a few months ago to not having him here now. It makes no sense as he was so happy and seemed well there. If he died in a car accident, you get that too, but this just seems to surreal and awful. It makes no sense at all.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

As I have already said it bothers me deeply that someone who brought joy to so many had it end like this....its just heartbreaking. It's worse than Elvis, MJ and Whitney cuz Prince lived through their deaths and this mess still played out like this.

That's how I feel, that this didn't have to happen. The hospital should have kept him there if he was in such serious condition for the plane to make an emergency landing. Not sure but I believe you cannot leave a hospital if you're in serious condition. ugh it's just all so senseless. disbelief

This is exactly how i feel, if a few ppl had just gone a step further in helping him he would still be here. Its just strange how this life thing works...i know ultimately he also had to make his own decisions but...it just sux...i know life goes on but this is a tough one for me and lots of others 😳😳
