Elixyr or Elixer? Why is this album title spelled "Elixer" everywhere? (Including on the back of the cover itself.) On the cover artwork it's clearly "Elixyr", and frankly, it makes more sense to me.

The proper Prince title is "Elixer" even though the actual word is spelled "elixir". Prince's version is a tongue-in-cheek way of saying "He Licks Her".

Oh OK, thanks, I didn't realise that. However, the front cover artwork clearly says "Elixyr", so even though the title track is spelled differently, the title of the album is "Elixyr".

Yes he does Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

What you're seeing along with the backwards "e" is actually the left hand part of the "r" at the end.

Nevers realized there was a pun to the album title (non native English speaker here), so thanks for mentioning it

I only ever listened to the title track. I wasn't interested in her album for some reason. Worth a listen though?

Her vocals are nothing special but some smooth well produced songs on it. Here I Come, Kept Woman, Elixer and All This Love are decent.

No, I too have been saying since it came out that Elixer is worth a listen! I prefer it to the other two in the bundle. The song "Elixer" is gorgeous, I like "Immersion" and "All This Love" are some of his best songwriting. There are a couple of skippable tracks on it, in my opinion ("2nite" - ugh), but mostly worthwhile.
There's been a recent thread about his voice - well, his singing on "Elixer" (it's a duet!) is AMAZING. As dodger says, Bria's voice is the weakest part, it is not on par with the level of some of the songwriting - "Something U Already Know" would be great with vocals like George Michael or something. Or just Prince ought to sing most of it. Take a listen for yourself!

Beautiful album. I would have loved for some of these songs to have been given to an accomplished singer because I'd say about half of the album is top-notch. Change it one more time..

Someone mentioned Delilah could have been a better choice. I agree. The songs deserved a better singer.
