I haven't seen this cover before and was wondering if it is old stock or new stock. It says 2001 on the cover.

Got this from JBHIFI in Melbourne, Australia.

i don't really understand what that means. i've never seen such
a display with the dates for anyone, ever, in any store. it's just
creepy and tacky. without the dates it would be fine.

Possible print error with Australian releases?

(Different plate per colour generally). The centre bottom Parade era image retains it's original theme presumably due to it being a black image...suggesting the other present Parade era image may have contained a CMYK (colour) element to create the blakc in that particular image, therefore suffering from the potential plate reverse processing we see on the output. It looks terrible and should have been discontinued during print proofing as it's apparently only an issue for Australian releases.

It's not a misprint!

It's not possible to misprint something and end up with a negative image - printing doesn't work like that.

This isn't the first time I've seen this. I am sure I read about this years ago as being an alternative cover. I am sure I read some people didn't like it so it wasn't used for all territories.

Pretty sure it has always been the cover. The slip cover has the white and purple cover, while the CD booklet's front cover is the one above.

No wonder those are the titles that are selling like hot cakes!

You should list it on ebay and say that it is a one of a kind error. Minimum bid/buy it now $1000.

My CD came inside a slip with Purple font and white background but the actual CD cover is that one. My guess is they just decided not to include the slip for other countries. I'm in the US

Not a slip-cover. It's a cardboard case. The copy I currently have of this album is this version. It's the one that's been in stores for years now.
