Prince Wrote About Medication Addiction In His Lyrics Listening to "The Truth" album I came across these rather prescient lyrics from the song "Fascination." Sad. The guy knew the dangers of pain medication; yet he still got sucked up into it. Lesson for all. . . The headache that U moan about feels much better than the treatment would.

could be right, but could be euphemisms too.
often in lyrics, by lots of artists, love/sex is refered to as a drug, or in this case, and many other cases, a pill.

we really don't know yet what he may or may not have gotten sucked into. he may have had a terminal illness. he may have had a bad reaction. dr drew said that thousands of people die every year taking meds AS PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR. the stuff is often lethal, even when used as directed. prince does not strike me as one to abuse his body in any way. he wouldn't even get a tattoo. Whether he used painkillers for hip pain or whether he experimented with drugs in the past, who knows. I just don't like how the media is making hin be the poster child of the opiod epidemic. Love is God,

I'm not new to Prince by any means but new to this site so not quite a johnny come lately!
I am wondering how we got confirmation about Prince taking pain meds? When did this happen? I have tried very much to focus only on his music because knowing how private he was the whole TMZ /National Enquirer mess turns my stomach so I've stayed away from most of the news. Has addiction been confirmed? | |
